Capt. America ....!!!

Saw a report today how Marvel will be
killing off Captain America. It stems from the character being arrested for not registering under the US law requiring super-heores to be registered with their identity. As Capt. is being led in handcuffs in to the court building, he is shot by a sniper 3 times...
wow.
Never read Capt. America or Avengers, but that sounds like pretty big stuff...!
(yah, of course he will be alive later, or someone will take his place....)

I can't see it happening.
Too much like how they got rid of John Walker when he was Capt America.
They should "retire" him for a few years.
Slowly make the evils of the Super hero registration act (is that what it's called?) become apparent.
Have him rally the country and save the day or something fantastic like that.
I don't know. Civil War was awesome in the beginning, it ended poorly in my opinion

I saw the parallels too.
But if that's true then why have Cap fail at the end?
Wait, back up, the current admin actually has a stance on illegal immigration?
Huh? What?

He'll be back. Marvel never lets a good character die for good.

It's true. He is dead. However, although there doesn't seem to be any information out there about any sort of resurrection, I'm sure there will be one. Anybody know who the Winter Soldier is? If they brought him back, after that long, you can be sure the hero Marvel has always considered the very best will be back. Likely pretty soon.

Fist,
The way I see it, if Norman Osborn can be dead for as many years as he was, then Captain America will certainly be back soon enough.

The thing that gets me is that I've never heard anyone say how amazing, or dramatic, or cool, it was when so and so was brought back. The industry seems to think it's the greatest story-telling device there is, while the readers think it's corny and cliche. This issue only came out a few days ago, and everybody is already completely convinced he'll be back. We can't take such an event seriously. His actual death would be damned dramatic!
The only character of any importance who has stayed dead - and it's been a LOOOOONG time - is the original (Earth 2) Batman. (I'm told Barry Allen - Flash - who has made many appearances since his death because he once lived in the future, knew when he would die, and time-travels back occasionally - will be back. A well.)

DC really screwed the pooch with the death of The Flash. I never liked the character anyways, but at least they gave him a good end in Crisis. THEN post Crisis Wally West decides to call himself the Flash, only he's been changed and so now he can only run at the speed of sound. Big whoop.

Finished reading Fallen Son... quite a good read, I have to admit. I never really liked Cap that much (then again, I'm not American, so the patriotism angle was something I never truly appreciated, I guess) but I really liked the way Marvel handled the event, building the story around the characters and giving it a human dimension even though the characters are all superheroes.
I also liked how
Iron Man is trying to cope with the grief by enrolling a new Cap, and Hawkeye refuses the shield after all he and Cap went through - one possible pitfall of the Fallen Son storyline was that the mantle would be taken up too soon by another hero, and a resurrected Hawkeye was the most likely one. Thankfully, that's been avoided!

So what? We all knew that unlike the current Admin., Captain believes in the rule of law and that pesky document that the PTB use as toilet paper AKA the Constitution.

I'm new here, but that seems both rude and irrelevant, Gunslinger.

I still think the Captain America they killed was a Skrull infiltrator.

why bring back Rogers? there have been plenty of Caps before. they can just train someone new for the job.
