Just a quick add in since everyone seemed hyped on Jeremiah at the moment. I have gone back through the first six books and am in the middle of the audio of ROFTE, attempting to piece together bits of forgotten information about the land and the "universe" as well as trying to piece together the shady pieces of the puzzle that donaldson is beginning to reveal to us. (yes, i have no life outside of schoolwork and god help me i don't know how i'm going to survive the next six and a half years.) anyhow.... It is obvious to most Donaldson fans that he does not go into such great detail concerning a character or a characters motives unless he truly has a use for them someone along the line. So, what's up with Jeremiah? aside from his imposed autistic-savant state, his SKILLS are something to be pondered, no? it says very specifically in one part, "Indeed, it seemed that he was incapable of any relationship except with physical objects which could be put together." Now granted, i've been up for two days, and i am really reaching on this, i would like any insight you Covenant buffs might be able to throw my way. Thanks.

welcome Corwin.
I beleive this has been discussed somewhere (but I'm too lazy to go look it up  ). As we all know, SRD doesn't put something in a story unless it is of some use to him, whether building character, necessry history, or, in this case, foreshadowing.
I, too, beleive that Jeremiah's construction ability with 3-D objects is important, if for no other obvious reason, than to rebuild what may be destroyed...

Hail, Corwin. There were a flurry of speculation threads when Runes came out, and if you go through the Runes forum you'll find some.

People have propounded a lot of theories for the construction. And a lot more theories for the racetrack.

Here's some I found real quick, I am sure there are more:

And the wildly speculative kevinswatch.ihugny.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=5248

And there's also some interesting revelations in the group read:
