Just realised how to defeat the Despiser: simply have Lord Foul play childrens' games forever. With whom these games will be played is encouraged in discussion. 
P.S. Covenant has always said we can not slay Despite, that Lord Foul is simply the Dark to our Bright natures. As mammals. And marsupials.
