Question on YouTube...

Is there a way to save a video on YouTube to a hard drive? Everytime I attempt to view something using my dial-up, I'm either booted, or waiting hours for it to load. If I can save it, then I can play it without the wait, once it's downloaded the first time.

There is... there are sites that you can put a youtube link into and they will give you a download link... I don't have any at hand, though. google it.

LOL, yeah I found it. But, as simple as it seems I must be doing something wrong. I download it, change the file extension to .flv per the instructions, and photobucket isn't recognizing it. :(

You can convert the .flv to .avi or .mpg with [more] freeware.

I did that when I downloaded the "Gonna have to face it you're addicted to LOST" video. I believe I used the Riva tool.

Well @#$%!!!

The video is working on my computer at home, but although I finally got it to upload to photobucket without booting me off, now I'm getting a message that the format, even though it's .flv, is not valid. Well @#$% again!!!

What I am trying to do is to take the HTML embed code that is provided on YouTube, and change it into a code recognized on phpBB boards. Even though I have my options set to be able to use HTML on the board I want to embed the video on, HTML never seems to work on it.

Once uploaded photobucket automatically generates both types of code. But it's not accepting this video. Does anyone know of another way I can easily generate the bbc code to embed a video from the HTML code?

TIA!!
