These lists are always good for generating discussion. I like the Top 5 A lot, but IMO, it gets weaker as it goes.

A couple of Glaring omissions:

1) Son Volt's "Windfall"
2) King of the Road
3) half of Neil Young's catalog.
4) Willie "Poncho and Lefty"
5) Steve Earle's GUITAR TOWN!!!!

Take out the dreck by Bon Jovi and Seger's "Turn the Page".

good call on Son Volt. I think we all could come up with a better list than RS did.

The list does suck. (At least it has the essential Radar Love.) But we can post our favorite road songs.

Freeway Jam by Traffic
Humans Being by Van Halen (more of a cyclist road song tho)
Panama by Van Halen
Money for Nothing by Dire Straits

Yer a Doobie Brother fan, aincha Menolly?

Aside from Black Water (who can't dig that diddy?) and What a Fool Believes...I'm not so into them...but to each his or her own I say!

Up until Michael McDonald took over lead vocals, yeah.

I even worked for McDonald's dad for a short time (I remember him attending my Mom's funeral, as he was on par with my Daddy at the company they worked at, and him giving me some very strange "words of comfort"...) and I still can barely listen to McDonald sing...

:::meaning I am not much of a fan of What a Fool Believes:::

And Black Water is OK, IMO. But I like their higher tempo stuff.

Speed - Atari Teenage Riot

I always get pulled over when I play this song in the car. I don't know why.

You're smokin' crack - McDonald improved the sound of the Doobie Bros. tremendously.

To some degree...Living on the Fault Line is their best album. Did McDonald help? Well...indisputably, but there was alot of great stuff before him---as long as Jeff "Skunk" Baxter's in the group it has to be cool. 8)
