Best Fights

I'm talking about knock-down, drag-outs.
-"Rowdy" Roddy Piper and Keith David in "They Live". Sure, it goes on forever, but it's absolutely brutal.
-Mel Gibson and Gary Busey in "Lethal Weapon". OK, a little cornball for the lead-in, but with the water falling from the fire hydrant and the spotlights it creates a believable tension.
-Ed Norton and Ed Norton in "Fight Club". Probably the funniest and most disturbing ass kicking ever filmed.

Good call, but not in a movie.

Jim Carrey and Sean Young in 'Ace Ventura: Pet Detective'. It amuses me.

Absolutely! Great call!
Another, Bruce Willis vs. Alexander Gudinov in Die Hard. Another brutal one. heheheheh
Actually, I likes the fighte between Peirce Brosnan and Sean Bean in "Goldeneye" in that satellite tower thingee.
OH! another favourite is Matt Damon vs. other assassin guy in Bourne Identity, in his London apartment. That was well shot (don't get me started on the mess of directing/editing in the Greengrass one... grrr)

Good call, but not in a movie.
Yeah, that was a little joke.
How about Jackie Chan in The Drunken Master? He uses his
chin, for Chrissakes! They're all tangled up, and he uses the only body part he can still attack with: chin to the eye! The rest of the fight is incredible, too.
I thought Neo had some incredible fights, even if they're mostly CG. The one with all the Smiths and the pole was nice, just in the logistics of such an undertaking.
Indiana Jones fighting under the airplane with the propellers going . . . nice. Actually, he's had a lot of good ones. The moving truck is great.
The two Terminators in T2 were legendary. You've got everything from liquid nitrogen to molten steel.
King Kong vs the 3 T-rexes was amazing. Just about the only thing good in the movie.

Aragorn vs. Lurtz. While I didn't like the character of Lurtz very much, it was a good fight. Even better was that it is effective....and short. Remember, directors...a good fight scene doesn't have to last 20 minutes.
Ya HEAR ME JOHN WOO?

Wasn't that a blow by blow re-enactment of another fight from another movie?
Done on purpose as a homage.
Or did another movie copy the "They Live" fight?

Indiana Jones vs. the swordmaster in
Raiders.
Best. Choreography. Ever.

Equilibrium (spoilered since many (too many) haven't seen it)
At the very end, he fights about a dozen guys. Kills 'em. So then his nemesis steps up, with the attitude of 'Ok, now the real fight is going to begin.' You expect a long drawn out fight. But no. The dude dies in like two seconds. I mean, he did just kill a dozen people.
And right after that, the most awesome gun fight of all time.

From IMDB:
The fight between Nada (Roddy Piper) and Frank (Keith David) was only supposed to last 20 seconds, but Piper and David decided to fight it out for real, only faking the hits to the face and groin. They rehearsed the fight for three weeks. Carpenter was so impressed he kept the 5 minute and 20 second scene intact.

Hahahahahahaha....!
I just remembered what I was thinking about.....
Oh man.
South Park: Cripple Fight
"The South Park fight between Timmy and Jimmy pays homage of that scene. The animated sequence mimics They Live almost exactly, even copying specific camera angles and dialogue."

Great fights all round in that film.

i recently bought a friend a copy of "They Live" so he'd understand the "message" spray-painted on the house across the street from mine claiming, "THEY LIVE, WE SLEEP". yes, one of the best fights.
has anybody heard of Juzo Itami"s "Tampopo"? one of my all-time favs. it's got a real face buster in it.

OK... The best fight scene
ever is Tony Jaa Vs Lateef Crowder in
Tom Yum Goong. It blows the competition away... I'll see if I can find a youtube link.

Jackie Chan in 'What Am I'
The one on the roof that goes on and on and on.
The bit where him and the kick-guy just repeatedly kick eachothers shins
here it is
www.youtube.com/watch?v=AorB0qzjDzU
all ten minutes of it!

I remember watching some John Wayne western as a kid and it had a great group fight scene, lots of fellers and lots of mud. Maybe it was "The Sons of Katie Elder", dunno. A light-hearted romp. Anyway, that scene remains the second best fight scene in my memory.
The best is, of course, the one in "They Live".
