Magnum Opus

reveille, reveille
all hands heave
out and trice up

now sweepers... start
your broom, clean sweep
down fore and aft, empty
all trashcans o'er the fantail

so now needle gun
the aluminum siding,
lock wire lug nuts -
raise the threshold
and lower the topsails

1001...1002...1003
bean counters counting
sheep, trying to sleep
and where do we find
them? quonset hut...
tracing wheel, assimilation
gloves dragging behind them

MAD

post - 911 atomic annihilation metaphors. nuclear destruction, singular residents of small American towns. silos hidden in the dark, buried in the fields. a list to cull, a list to burn. apocalyptic terms of unsigned treaties. unstable elements periodically tabled. anxieties are free form improvisations. pop culture mirrors the zeitgeist. a frenzy of atmospheric period pieces. a blanc noir for the modern age. midrange shuffles past ground zero. upsurge the outrage, outsource the upside. the second wave gives way to impotence and reluctance. mushroom clouds on the horizon, the acid rains down. hyperactive overdrive. scattering superficial stump speeches. questing for the unambiguous and the unbeatable. career politicians lording over apathetic serfs. red phones disconnected, overhead maps without legend. formations held on the tarmac. suitcase delivery trumps oversea travel. dirty bombs make for a cleaner consciences?

FIRE HYDRANTS

about face, amp-up, drug-out. soft-spoken sacrifice. conviction of innocence, a comedy of tragedies. subservient clowns tripping on hip-hop. stagger or swagger? choreographed shards of broken glass are the source of distant prophets. iron-fisted surrogates sporting plasticine grins. indulging in severed tethers. torque clamps and tension wires bind rabid dogs. alchemical mirrors bathed in acid solutions. surreal mixtures of fantasy and commonplace. autocrats on remote control. brutal fables told in poetic counter rhythms. ancient ruins fostering modern high-rises. pale cacophony, wrestles mute thematics. concrete boundaries in abstract parameters set with Rorschach blots. infra-red rainbows and ultra-violet sunspots light your way. a rhapsody in semantics. pathos smother you in saccharine waves. mayhem in earth-tones. a poverty of forethought becomes an afterthought. despite implications, consent does not equal vocation. violation does not equal empathy. monotony does not equal control. scrape burrows, borrow trigger points

Sample jar / Sample jar procedures

1) Use only the new teal collection jars. They are the polycarbonate jars with lids only. (Do not allow for their use unless sample jars only.)

2) Always be sure to mark the sample jars with a day, a date and a time type.

3) Place the sample jar in the steel box. Once you have the 3 (three) days worth of sample jars; remove the oldest sample jar from the bottom of the steel box. Replace it with a sample jar at the top of the steel box.

4) Do not put other sample jars (the blue jars) in the steel box. Store the blue jars in the stainless steel box aside the steel box.

5) As always make sure you are only posting daily, weekly, monthly and yearly results for the sample jars. (There are no exceptions.)

Slips, Trips & Falls

Good soul shoes continue thinking.

Walk in areas, hidden steps. Turn corners, step outside. Steps or raised surfaces are not so obvious. Walking in areas, smooth surfaces. Be aware, beware. Take steps to spot and avoid. No matter how small or large. Trip hazards, look for and avoid. Loose and unattached. Correct as soon as possible. Until slipping and tripping. Falling, missing. Loose or sticking up. Missing or uneven, expect a surface. Avoid slipping and falling. Be aware of walkways, walk away. Work shops, work areas. Stumbling. Be aware of placement, don’t get complacent. Think at all times. Steps, stairs. Stumble and fall. Beware, be aware. Take your time. Be aware. Correct or avoid.

remove any copywrong

It is deliquescent and also readily absorbs carbon dioxide from the air, so it should be stored in an airtight container. It is very soluble in water with liberation of heat. It also dissolves in ethanol and methanol, though it exhibits lower solubility in these solvents than does potassium hydroxide. It is insoluble in ether and other non-polar solvents. A sodium hydroxide solution will leave a yellow stain on fabric and paper.

You know what would have been funnier?

Philosophical Differences:

a stereoisomer of quinidine.

a salt of sulfuric acid.

the anhydrous form is deliquescent, therefore harder to weigh accurately.

"Water, water, every where
Nor any drop to drink."

Rachel & Blank

Aether (also spelled ether) is a concept used in ancient and medieval science as a substance. The aether was believed to be the substance which filled the region of the universe above the terrestrial sphere. Aristotle included it as a fifth element distinct from the other four, Air, Earth, Fire, and Water. Aether was also called Quintessence (from quinta essentia, "fifth element"). Its Platonic solid was the Dodecahedron.

Modern understanding of electromagnetism, including Einstein's particle theory of light and various scientific experiments of general relativity, has removed the need for a substance like aether to fill the otherwise empty parts of the universe. Newton's and Maxwell's aether model (the latter being a "classic static aether") were both developed from this classical element. However, the null result of the Michelson-Morley experiment led (from 1887 onwards) to the decline of an aether model's wide acceptance. Albert Einstein, in an interpretation he offered for his theory of special relativity, dismissed it, as per Occam's razor; and, though he later reinstated a logical need for an aether in a commentary on his theory of general relativity, modern astrophysical theories do not include this classical element. One might suppose 'dark matter' has supplanted "aether."

TERMINUS

The deity was at the border, protected between the ranges. The character stone was a target green. Each year, in February the Shamus Decree was organized. In this ceremony blood was poured on the flowers. This was to replace the life force. At some point the stone was considered the avatar of Jupiter. Thus began the implementation of the Terminals. And thus were the segues likewise connected. And fables were written about the mediator, the god and the further implementation. Under the place of the flowers a new temple was built. The temple was in the capitol. Thus the angel of Jupiter beset the border; aggravating the stone implementation. In many respects the old high priests considered this action an injury. So the priests reset the borders and the influence of Jupiter waned.

September…
Sharon set the old plates for supper. Joseph woke the family for the second time. He then set the ladder down for the day. Seems the family was done with their treasure hunting. He then counted the pennies they had found, checking for disorders and imposters in the pile. Brother Harold found the table, still muttering over the fifty dollars he had lost last week. Sharon set the salt cellar out and started dishing out food. She knew the meal was a fraud, but it was the best she could do. The gruel was bland but would stave off hunger for one more night. After an uninspiring prayer the twelve methodically chewed on the food, and mulled the day. The house had been built on a bog, and dampness pervaded the dwelling. It sat too close to the crooked river, and the meager fires never warmed the dulled group. Joseph had found some work as a mason in the nearby town. But the labor was sporadic. Finishing his issue, Joseph checked his pocket watch, but the machine had betrayed him, broken and timeless. The twins cleared the table, mute and settled. There was a knock at the door; Bill had arrived for the temple trip. The baker’s dozen slogged down towards the primitive tabernacle set at the end of the field. Built at some point before by roving missionaries, the building was plain for its purpose. Joseph pulled the keys from a pouch, he alone ever carried them. They would stay here all night, until the dawn brokered the day. They would sing, off key and tuneless. But the trilling suited their facade. They were sober people of limited means and ways. Newer material would have been a bonus, a luxury they could never afford. They were different people who were united in purpose. They were simple people of flesh and bone, desperate to spread their unique gospel.

Tesla had dreams of wonders. some of which he made. and some of which we still don't understand to this day. Theremin heard the harmonics in nature and harnessed them. some say that Lovecraft confronted what we see from the corner of our eye. and i believe that somewhere there is a mathemetical formula that will explain everything. and when we find it, everything changes. string theory, chaos, Angels unfolding their wings. whatever you like to believe.

Paris, Montana

romance is the subject. a cowtown lowdown. mountains, wide valleys and sage-filled hillsides. transected by long, empty stretches of four-lane blacktop. kiosks litter the reststops. ex-felons publish travel guides, sold in local convienence stores. the winters are long and severe, the summers brutal and short. the people are friendless and distrusting. they gather together in their individual solitudes. they mimeograph geographical topographies. they mark their divisions of resentment, counted in sediments. frustration hangs over all of them. freelancers travel in packs, searching for assignments. enclaves are built for wayward artists. on opposite sides live the remittance men, still in exile. ramshackle bungalows are hastily constructed un border towns. tumbledown fly-by-night affairs. half-empty shells half-built and half-remembered. solitary shotgun shacks loop city outskirts. scofflaw zones exist deeper in the brush, by default and concensus, most of the men living there are of inderminate lineage and advanced age. the exodus already happened. searching for escape the last generation proved.

the freemasons are freebasing

...good dog!

summer in paris grren
high-go the jumbler
pole-axe in hand

good night Essex,
into your hands
I light.

osmosis
is the dark side of
synergy

my anthem
for a
mod generation is
a coptic seizure

we are running ahead
of the sun, the sky a dark
grey sheet of corrugated iron

sleepy children, jump up
now. a breath of fresh
air. (a hurricane.)

square is the top of cool,
three cords and the truth,
what i ought, life intrudes

a day without sunshine
is night. gravity is meaningless
at the speed of light.

i've got a monkey, two monkees
the other one is yarn and
fabric. i have three mpnkeys.

the sons of perdition are
doing the Texas two-step
in the lake of fire

the tick-tock of a clock
can put you to sleep.
i have seven such clocks

it's all either a hauntingly
beautiful tone poem or it's
a crashingly dull mood piece.

Was I Wrong?

My regrets, my confessions...

Was I wrong? I have renounced my decisions. Doubt lead to failure. My objective now is monitored skepticism. With support disintergrating, I face my reckoning. In retrospect I made many errors. Or I made three errors.

In retrospect I overestimated my own competance. I also overestimated my own intelligence. And lastly I overestimated the risks involved. I was over-rated and underwhelming. My fear forced me into choosing a deeply flawed belief system. I proved myself fallible. Doubts were raised that I too easily dismissed. My life is now a debacle. I have done damage to my legacy. I was overconfident.

Will you forgive me?

i look into your
bloodshot eyes
and i see the
sensitive side of
your being...
i smell the saw
dust of your body
as you pass me by
just drive...

untitled
wish i could write
something beautiful
like you
something meaningful
but starts
and stops
only come through
------
wish i could say
something devastating
like you
what if then
if i could
only if then
would i give it to you
------
wish i could play
something
like your smile
if i did
that for you
would you keep it
forever

there's nothing
there's nothing like a day on the beach
in the sunshine
laughing and playing all day
-----
there's nothing like being in your arms
during the night time
if we're safe and hid away
-----
there's nothing like a day on the porch
in the rain with you
with nothing else to do
