My Holy Grail

I have found a single female that I work with that has some of the better qualities that I have been looking for? For one she is of the female persuasion (the main thing that got me). Second: she is a fan of the Star Trek that I love so much. And amazingly enough she is a reader (cute and a reader, what a double threat). When I was teasing her for reading the Harry Potter books I found the Runes Of The Earth in hardback that her mom had gotten for her. She has never read any of the books and had started is so I was forced to remove her book mark. Now I get to run her through the first six books. How did I ever get so lucky?

Just wait until she gets to the rape scene in LFB, and thinks you're a giant perv for liking those books.

I was thinking about that. But if she reads garbage like Harry Potter I think she will be able to handle it.

I would get into the Harry Potter discussion but I dont want to cause a big hubub. I know how much some people love those books but I just dont know why.

Not if it involves dissing the series. :::shudder:::

I prefer not to deal with that, if I can help it. I feel it really brings the feel of the forum down (but then, I don't like debate anyway). I won't disallow it, but I won't encourage someone to come post there for the distinct purpose of criticising what most of the posters in that forum enjoy. It totally interrupts the flow of most of the threads.

Hear, hear! Not that I'm for or against JKR (haven't read page 1 of the HP series), but I am against turning every freaking forum into another Tank.

To paraphrase a certain mod over in the Flicks forum...

"You mod your way, I'll mod mine. Capeesh?"

Hey, Sheol!

Welcome back. Long time, man.

Ask her to marry you as soon as she asks for The Illearth War! :)

I think I might just have to ask her to marry me. But I will have to make a trip to the bookstore. It just so happens that my book shelf broke not to long ago spilling all of its contents on to the carpet. I stacked my books on the floor untill I could find a new book shelf. Before I got to that the washing machine went haywire and soaked the entire basement floor along with a number of the books I had recently stacked. It just so happens that two of my TC books swelled up to twice thier size (along with some really old Doc Savage books). With the luck that I have I will never have a set with matching covers again untill all of the books have been released on paperback.

Oh...poor Sheol. I'd probably throw a fit if that happened to my books. Actually, my husband and I just started a librarything.com account to keep track of all our books, in case there's a housefire or something and we need to replace them.

Not suggesting that either. Just think that a spread of views is better than a uniform one. If everybody is only there to say how wonderful the series is, and that's all they're encouraged to do, I think you'd be mising out. shrug*

I can agree with that. I just prefer a separate thread be made for it so posters can choose to be involved in getting those POVs or not.
