The Simpsons Movie

It was funny, though at times I felt like my family was the only ones laughing. The story is VERY preachy. That's annoying. And it felt like they recycled a lot of stuff they've already done. Paradoxically, it also feels like they tried to "up the ante" and give us something we've never seen in a Simpson's episode, which made the movie a bit ridiculous, even for a cartoon.

It's one thing to criticize the government, religion, and a father's responsibility; but if your criticism is itself just another cliche, well . . . I guess I'd rather watch South Park.

However, it was funny. And it was nice to see

It was okay. I used to like the Simpson, but I feel like I've ourgrown them.

I also could have done without

:LOLS: I enjoyed it. Always liked the Simpsons. It wasn't great, but it was mostly amusing.

Funny, one review I read praised them for their 'witty referencing of early episodes.' I guess one man's referencing = another man's recycling.

I thought it was pretty funny, though I kinda agreed with Homer's comment in the beginning. And:

Bart's blackboard writing was amusing to me... I was watching a downloaded version. :P

I thought it sucked. Been a Simpsons fan since they were on the Tracy Ullman show, and this was a total let-down. I think I laughed out loud 4 or 5 times, and at least one of them was a sympathy laugh.

Sad, 'cause they could have done so much with it.

I think I'd still be pissed if I rented it.

It was really that bad.

No, not as bad as Premonition. That really sucked.

Just disappointing.

Wouldn't have helped. There were just too many jokes that fell flat.

Helped me. ;) I really didn't think it was that bad. That said however, I could as easily have waited for it to come out on DVD.

I don't know of a more dedicated Simpsons fan than I am (maybe Prorider514). Saw the Simspons movie on friday and the whole family loved it. Maybe its because I've suffered through the drop in fun starting with season 11 to present but the feature film seemed like a return to at least season 7 or 8 level. I'm glad I didn't miss it at the theater. :-) I'm anxious to add the dvd to my collection. Come to think of it I need to pick up Season 10 on tuesday. Woohoo!
