I bet those will be in the Top 25.

*still waiting for 1-25 before I say*
But, I'll admit I was only 11 or 12 years old when I saw it in the theater, and it was the first film of its sort I ever saw.

Rudy's a killer.
Oh, so is Day of the Dolphin.

"Rudy" actually makes me sob rather than just trickle tears. Oddly enough, so does the original cartoon "Charlotte's Web."

I'm not sure, but I almost always shed a tear during The Fisher King. It's pretty much when Robin Williams finally succumbs and makes some ugly noises that sounds more like real grief than anything you typically hear in movies.

I don't know if anybody has seen Tampopo or Akira Kurusawa's Dreams but those are the only flics that'll make me cry every time.
Curious...both being Japanese and all.

*nodding*
...in my best A-1 Steak Sauce voice...
What Dreams May Come got me here and then it got me here, but it didn't make me sob like the movie I'm thinking of did.
Y'all are gonna laugh at my little 12 year old naive self.

Crap, I forgot Field of Dreams. The end of that movie messed me up big time, and my father's still alive.

Frequency did that for me (my father died in 1972.)

It's a Wonderful Life is the only movie that has ever made me teary eyed.
And I've seen it 150 million times too!

Looking back over the list, and I forgot to mention that Saving Private Ryan is a definite tear jerker for me.

I've seen Dreams. Wasn't a tearjerker for me, but the film's imagery haunted me for days on end.
Of the films listed (so far), Philadelphia was the only one that really made me cry. Seeing the film the first time was a powerful experience, and I totally lost it at the end, when Neil Young's song accompanies the video montage of Tom Hanks's character as a baby.
Saving Private Ryan and Now, Voyager came close. Shawshank had its moments, too.
Maybe it's just me, but I think West Side Story is overrated. As is The Wizard of Oz. Tearjerkers? Hardly. They leave me cold. *ducks*
Ordinary People should be in the Top 25. One of my favorite films ever, and a pretty good tearjerker along the way.
Charlie Chaplin's City Lights should be up there, too.

Don't think I've ever watched a movie that made me cry. Precious few books can manage it either.

- City Lights
- Fearless (Jeff Bridges)
- Being There
(and always at the end...)
