Er, do you mean a Cameraman Jenn Special Edition Dissection of MN? Cuz we just finished a group read of MN a couple of years ago - at some considerable effort, too, since there were relatively few of us doing it. It was a minor miracle that we all managed to complete the project at all. (I didn't even join in til the 2nd book; I think early on, it was just MsMary, danlo, Duchess and a few others keeping the whole thing alive.)

Well, that could be arranged, the special edition dissection thingy. I just thought it might be fun to get some fresh blood going.

Let me clarify - I'm for starting a group read, not a formal dissection. I'm gonna have my hands full when FR dissection starts in 2008.

That's what I meant. Just a group read. With discussion.

Well, if not enough people are interested we could do something crazy....like an FBH style paraphrasing of the books.... :P It wouldn't be serious literary discussion but it would be funny and might inspire some people to read the books.

Hmmm, could be interesting. Coincidentally, I just started re-reading MN a couple of days ago ;-)

Haha, dunno if I'll take part, what with FR coming up and the Gap read too, and the ongoing Dune read on top of that. As MM said, there's Casting The Augury already.

But I don't mind dropping in and making fun of y'all while you do it...

Well, with all the other watch events happening, perhaps we should leave MN alone for a while. I know I promised Lucimay I would participate in the Gap read. That reminds me, I need to go dig my paperbacks out of storage.

I've never done one of these things, but I'd love to read along and discuss, as long as I could do it relatively casually. My schedule's getting really tight, and I wouldn't have time for in-depth dissections or anything like that.
“...The conversations had a nightmare flatness, talking dice spilled in the tube metal chairs, human aggregates disintegrating in cosmic inanity, random events in a dying universe where everything is exactly what it appears to be and no other relation than juxtaposition is possible.”

I wanted it to be informal.
