American Football poll

So, with my non-existent knowledge of american football I decide to make a short poll. Please do not talk too harshly to me.

The
Haruchai wouldn't be bothered by crowd noise. They'd have no problem getting their plays in.
The Giants would be tough. Huge lines, I hear.
The Arguleh and Cave-wrights would be the doormats of the league. Kind of like how Detroit and Cincinnati are now. (Sorry Duchess

Hmmm....An excellent question. I would say the Unfettered. I'm sure they would have one Unfettered devoted to the passing game, one for the running game, one for special teams. With the type of in-depth knowledge of strategy and technique gained from a lifelong devotion to one particular facet of the game they would be able to counter the physical advantages of dominant teams like the Giants and the Haruchai.
Then again I hear the Arguleh have ice water in their veins!

They might be contenders too!

I have a feeling that the Arguleh would have to little team spirit to be effective, but who knows.
The Teams that did not qualify

As a small addendum I can list for you the teams that did not qualify:
Amok
Vain
Nom
These were disqualified because they are not teams as such.
But even so I am not sure that I would have bet on a full team of Haruchai against either of these.

I'm going with the stonedownors, sure they're not as big as the Giants or as fast as the Haruchai but they got heart, huge heart. Have you ever seen the movie Rudy? They're just like that guy; they've got a chance. I always root for the underdog, anyway.

Haruchai for their endurance!

The Ur-Viles have a pretty tough wedge on kickoffs and punts
Lots of return yards there.
Plus, they have a real nose for the football!

Man, give me an offensive line of Sandgorgons! NO HOLDING CALLS!

Will you need a whole line? I should think that one would be sufficient.

Haha, very true!
The Wahynim running back will be tough to catch once the others fill him up with some
Blood Speed!

Nah, someone would find out the sandgorgons' names, trick someone into calling them, and the field would be suddenly empty of sandgorgons (leaving the other team an easy score).

The skill and versatility of the
Haruchai would probably be enough to dazzle the giants' defence. Stopping their offence could be a bit of a prob, but they're are a cluey bunch, they can usually suss out an offence and formulate a defence to counter it. The ur-viles....hmmm yeah , they've got good formations and stuff, but are a little too predictable.
What I would like to know is, why don't the
Elohim have a team????

Well, yeah, the Ur-Viles may be predictable, but unstoppable! Just create another Vain like character and program him to
Hold onto the ball and walk toward the End Zone! TOUCHDOWN!
And I hate to say this, but the Elohim aren't allowed to play. They always play by their own rules.
(Doesn't play well with others)

There could be many explanations for that, but the real one is that there is a limit on how many options you can have in a poll.

The problem with the Ur-Viles is that if you can get to the Quarterback, the wedge will fall apart.

The
Arguleh should have been relegated.....at least the
Elohim would have scored one vote.

There's no relegation in American sports. I've always thought that the concept would be good - it weeds out the incompetently run teams. Perennial lamely run clubs like Milwaukee and Detroit in baseball, and Cincinnati in football would be forced to make changes. Now it seems that some teams, particularly in baseball, hardly try to win.

Somehow, I can't figure out how to place my vote in the poll, but I vote for the giants - they can take serious punishment and the Haruchia always let them do what they want (remember the whole Revelstone thing???)
