No buzz about 3:10 to Yuma yet?

Hey, any movie that has Russell Crowe
and Christian Bale has definately got my attention, and I haven't seen a decent western at the theater since Open Range. Or are people skeptical since the commercials compare it to Unforgiven?
more Peter Fonda and Grethen Mol are in it too--most of it was filmed in New Mexico.

I don't like remakes, nor do I care for the two leads, but this actually does look interesting. I love Westerns, so I'll definitely be seeing it.

The casting here has given my wife severe mixed emotions. She doesn't like Russell Crowe (don't know why-we haven't seen one of his movies) but loves Christian Bale. She also likes Westerns, so it's still on the list to see.
Me? Anything that gets my wife to the cinema is good. I just enjoy a good movie.

I like Russell Crowe and Christian Bale, so it would be interesting to see how they get along (onscreen anyway) - if I can be bothered to see the movie. It's a remake? Didn't know that.
It's being compared to Unforgiven? Well, call me one of the skeptics then. This new film would have to be something REALLY special in order to compare favorably with one of the greatest I've ever seen.

Thanks, Cail. The story does sound compelling.
And thanks for the trailer link, danlo. Just from that, I can see several shots that do remind me of the look of Unforgiven.

Roger Ebert gives 3:10 4 stars! He said he liked the original movie even better than High Noon and that this version clearly outshines Glenn Ford's. I had no idea that this movie was based on an Elmore James short story.

I saw this a few weeks ago and I enjoyed it - Crowe makes the movie though, no doubt about that.

Just saw it. First third of the movie or so was rather boring and slow but reved up pretty good once they left the house and the escorting/travelling part started.
And have an outlaw set at your table for dinner with your family? Come on; but had to be done for dialogue, I suppose.
Got better once they got to town and then was excellent on the way to the train.
I thought all characters were well done and enjoyed hating Crows blonde henchmen; he did an excellent job. Outstanding performance by Fonda, too. The extras on the DVD were cool to watch, too.

I watched it last night and enjoyed everything. I'll have to rewatch the last 5 minutes as I was falling asleep. It wasn't the movie, I was just pooped...
