Hey all, I'm in the middle of a failure analysis here and am left with the question of polycaprolactone and chemical compatability with ethanol. Looking around in my usual sites I found no useful information. Can anyone out there give me a hand?

The sad part Guns, is that I actually thought for a second that you were giving me a serious answer.....

I am sorry Lorelei! I just couldn't resist.
Your areas of scientific study far surpass my ability to provide you with anything resembling a reasonable response!

I always enjoy reading your questions, Lorelei. Not sure why, since I usually don't know most of the words you use. But still, they're fun to read!

Have you checked out this?
www.iop.org/EJ/abstract/0960-1317/10/1/311
Edit:
this article seems to hint, that lack of hydrophilicity is an issue for biological applications. But since ethanol can swing both ways, I guess you'd need something more quantitative.

Thanks for the link Prebe!
Yes the problem with ethanol is that it can swing both ways. I am talking the client into letting me perform some experiments to check out what happens. It looks like one layer of the composite completely dissolved and the only change that was made was the switch from an ester based additive to ethanol. I'm not sure of the actual % of ethanol present either which makes things tricky.
