Fist,

Is there a site for those of us on dial-up who can't load videos to check out?

Dragons?? Come on, you're killing me here!

imdb.com is always a good place to look for movies, actors, actresses, etc.

Story was lame.

Setting up the story in the beginning of the movie seemed like an eternity.

Special effects are what made the movie worthwhile.

It was my second worst movie since working at the theater. But the special effects really WERE cool. It was worth seeing for free, but I woulnd't pay for it, IMO.

Well, I grew up watching Godzilla movies. I expect those stories are all as bad as DW, and DW has much better fx, so I can't lose. :D High expectations is the enemy here, and I don't have any.

Hey - don't knock the story of the original Godzilla! One of the few monster movies with an actual point and pathos to it.

As for Dragon Wars....never heard of it. Not too surprised. What an astoundingly shit title for a film. Sounds about as exciting as calling a film Big Battle, or Romance Between Man and Woman.

Story of Main Character.

Also, I like monster movies that compare America to a gigantic nuclear lizard who eventually becomes friendly :)

Not knocking the original Godzilla story. But, come on, there's some horrid Godzilla movies out there!

I've seen just about every Godzilla film up to Godzilla 2000 and the thoroughly disappointing American Godzilla.
The original film is hands down a classic. After that the character begins to take on the role of a popular but gigantic professional wrestler. I absolutely geeked out for "Monster Zero and Destroy All Monsters". As to the actual stories I always assumed that the intent of the Japanese creative team was somehow lost in translation but I've since read that the campy and corny stories were pretty much what they intended.

True. As fun as some of the sequels are, for me, the Godzilla story ended with the original. The sequels bear almost zero stylistic relation with the original.

Aww, but it was fun when Godzilla tag-teamed with Jet Jaguar to lay the smackdown on Megalon!

And who needs steroids when you've got radioactive blood?

Y'know, when I heard about this movie, I thought it was a videogame to movie translation of the game from the 80's(?) from the team who made the Bards Tale games. A really fun game.

Actually, that almost seems like a better idea than this movie.

Megalon was the first Godzilla film I saw at the theater. I had to have been about 12. I loved it then but oddly enough I can't remember having seen in ever again. :(

You saw it at the theater? Whoa. I saw it on late night TV - back when late night TV really was the graveyard schedule, with television stations dredging up corpses of old movies for broadcast, complete with decaying picture and sound.

I want my 3 dollars back, what a stinker! Was it as bad as Pathfinder, or Battlefield Earth , no it was worse. It was a 12 pound turd in a zip-lock bag. At least I was able to turn the channel (the advantage given by PPV).
