Hee hee, I've got tickets to see the one and only Eddie Izzard at Nottingham Arena. I've got Action Transvestites, Jam, Sean Connery, James Mason, Welsh Pavlov, more Jam, Jeff Vader, Beeeees and Cats who Drill for Oil to look forward to. Can't wait!

Any other Izzard fans here?

Who is this guy? Actor? Comedian? Musician? Poet/Ranter? Is he sorta like the UK's version of Henry Rollins? Rollins

He's a comedian/actor, and not that much like Henry Rollins in that Rollins is a muscular tattooed metal singer and TV presenter, whereas Izzard is a transvestite. Albeit an executive, action transvestite.

Henry Rollins has been presenting Full Metal Challenge in the UK recently, a quite watchable show in which people build rugged vehicles and smash the carp out of them in glorious Technicolour. It strikes me as a little low-rent for someone like Rollins, but he might have been brought onboard to help get syndication in the states.

Good choice ;) Where are you based?

I haven't seen much of Mr Izzard myself, but the little I have seen cracks me up

I saw the HBO special Eddie Izzard had a few years ago. It was the funniest stand-up I had ever seen! This guy is hilarious! I wish he did more stuff! Every once in a while HBO replays his special and I never miss it!

Yes this guy is hysterical! My favorite bit is where he talks about going to France after taking basic French. Le chat est sur la chaise, and all that. I still have enough high school French to be able to follow, much to my surprise. ;)

I was always surprised at how much high school French I'd retained. His last DVD has a show that he did in France as a special feature, with optional subtitles. His videos can be picked up fairly reasonably on eBay, actually.
