I know this is a favorite subject of some of you. :)

Does anyone have a list of all the names for the ravers? Who/what they possessed in the past, etc?

8O How do u remember all that kinda stuff? The guy at Soaring Woodhelven would be Jehannum. A Raver(s?) attacks our company on the Dromond but we never figure out xactly who it is do we?

Where was it stated that a raver possessed the Demondim, which led to the creation of the ur-viles and wayhnim? I don't remember that.

the illearth war, chapter 4: may be lost, page 66 (may not b helpful 4 every1  )
'It was samadhi, now named Sheol, who mastered the heart of Berek's liege - Sheol who slaughtered the champions of the Land, and drove Berek, half-unhanded and alone, to his extremity on the slopes of Mount Thunder. It was turiya and moksha, Herem and Jehannum, who lured the powerful and austere Demondim to their breeding dens, and to the spawning of the ur-viles.
mhoram found all this out wen he touched samadhi Sheol in the body of an ur-vile on the marge of hatosh slay.

& i have a partly fotografic memory. :)

Thanks! That was well hidden. I remembered that one of the Ravers had possessed the King, but not the Demondim part.

But isn't it interesting how every character is pushed to the extreme (like it says Berek is in the above passage) to reach their full potential. It happens with Mhoram in TPTP, and TC finally in WGW. It also happens with Foamfollower in TPTP and Hile Troy in TIW.

Does anyone else see the pattern?

Oh yes, I have always seen that. It is how they handle their despair that makes this story so engrossing, for me anyway.

Pushed to the brink of choice and action...not knowing whether their action will save or damn...the paradox of white gold, but it is also the paradox of power, any power.

Mhoram discovers the secret to the Ritual of Desecration, but through his Oath of Peace he turns that power from destruction to the power that holds Revelstone. But he doesn't do it until it is the last resort.

And Covenant surrenders his ring only after no other choice is available. THAT was the big risk, relinquishing the power, there were so many ways Foul could have defeated him. Yet, Foul was blinded by the extremity of that power, Covenant knew he would be.

Okay..I am babbling...will stop now :)

Peace
