OMG I *STILL* haven't started FR yet!

I'm starting to think its a conspiracy!

Found 2 copies in the local store the day after it came out, both were abused (torn dust jacket, bruised edges) so I ordered from Amazon. Finally (2 weeks later) arrived and mine has a bindery error!

Now, the book is still readable, the problem is with the face trim being done wrong. I have since found more copies locally in good shape, and dont really want to hassle with sending this back to Amazon and waiting another two weeks for a replacement.

....and I thought I was pissed when I pre-ordered deathly hallows and it took 3 weeks to show up at my door....

Help me decide whether to break my oath of peace, do I get mad, suck it up or just go buy another copy and return this one?

There is something trying to tell you something..Arrange with Amazon a replacement. If that means giving up current copy, so be it, send it back and as soon as you leave the mailing station go to a bookstore and buy FR,,no matter the condition, That is yours for a future unknown purpose,,as in trade,,a loaner ( for a positive outcome) etc etc. The Good One you get from Amazon,,you leave in packaging,, and never open up. Store it with care. Perhaps only when Donaldson is near,, get him to autograph it..Whatever,,but the beat up and abused one,, there is a value there that will be realized in the future..What it is, i don't know,, but it can't hurt to heed the signs...imho.

Tell Amazon. They will refuse to refund you and insist on sending another one. Let em do it. They will not want the damaged one back. Read the damaged one and keep the replacement pristine like Lurch said. 8)
