Thanks! This is quite a step up from last year. I think my hand eye coordination has moved past preschool level.

Balon, what tools do you use? Do you have one of those carving kits, or just household knives?

I just used a steak knife for the whole thing.

Excellent.
I couldn't come close to that with only a steak knife.
...even with a kit, I couldn't come close to that...
For the translucent part, to you scrape away the flesh outward inside until it's really thin and the light shines through? Or do you carve from the skin inward?

I carve from the outside, but with a drawknife instead of a steakknife.
