Fatal Revenant makes THOOLAH Redunant!!

Yes.. FR has made THOOLAH redunant.

From the thread that formed THOOLAH, kevinswatch himself saids.
No more shall we stand to listen to the lies preached by the Linden Avery Support Guild. No more shall we stand to accept a second rate character to continue on as a farce of a main character in the great Chronicles of Thomas Covenant. No more shall we hide our annoyance with the great Queen of Inaction, and her many forsaken qualities. The Chosen is eternally whiney and is forever complainey. She tricks us with pages and pages of endless thought, misjudgment, and a fear of taking action. We require a lead character who isn't afraid to shoot fireballs out of their ass and completely annihilate and destroy every living thing within a thirty mile radius in order to accomplish their goal, whatever it may or may not be. We require a lead character who leaps before they look, and who acts immediately in every situation, without even taking a nanosecond to consider the possibilities. The time for action has come! No more shall we sit around and "think" about what is going on! For the Way of Thought is the Way of Inaction, which is mandate of the unholy queen.
Well now...lets see what the inaction queen has done.
Popped thru a ceasure to grab the Staff of Law!
Made a ceasure and just happen to pull the Deamondin thru it to cause havoc in her time!
Cavorted with urviles and a shady character who's a Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde!
Stood in front of the Haruchai to protect a poor old insane man and even corrupted one to be on her side!
Fully supported by the Ramen nation!

and then there's the stuff in FR..

(and I'll let others cite her travels)

OK you THOOLAHies, Miss inaction indeed!!!! :P

(this thread is all for fun)

Linden rocks? When last we saw her, she had just aroused the Worm and destroyed the world and everything in it, all because of her selfishness. Nice going, Linden.

Now, put that in your pipe and smoke it. ;)

THOOLAH forever!

Well Linden cooked the book abit on the distance.. but she wasn't afraid to do it!!!

In Melenkurion Skyweir she tastes the Earthblood and then on top of that she exceeds herself. She dips the Staff into the Earthblood. We havn't seen such a display of power since Covenant blasted Foul's home into the sea!

I mean TC just blasted a small section of land into the sea but Linden cracks a mountain in two!! and created Rivenrock!

Poor Elena, only if she knew what you could do with the staff, she could have done the same thing and blasted dead Kevin back to the happy lord's land.

Then even before that, Linden from the top of Revelwood takes in a urvile cocktail and catty whomps a Fall that the Deamondin were using as a recharge station.

Even Berek the Lord Fatherer owed her. She saved many of his soldiers and she darn nears collapses doing the selfless act of healing.

She survives an encounter that Loric survived and she did it first! (Today at 11, it's Meet the Viles)

Even a Forrestal asked her of a boon!!!

An Insequent helps her twice and give up her life for the "lady"

Then of all the gall, she has the quick idea to save some tree dwellers(whom she nevered met) from total destruction. She saids the same name and get not one but six sandgorgons!!! TC never accomplished that!!

After a short bout with the skruj, she gains the heart of Aldelain where some snotty-nose high-bowed Elohim tries to bully dear Linden into "giving up" without an explainion. Linden responds with "Horse Manure" and procees with the only action that she deems possible.
She bring back to life our hero.. Thomas Covenant!!

If that ain't shooting fireball out of your ass and completely annihilate and destroy every living thing, I don't know what is.
So there!!!! :P :P :P

Hmmm, I don't remember the world being destoyed at the end. ;)

Oh come on. The story ain't over yet. TC told her to do something unexpected and she did. And I'm sure she's going to be redeemed by the Chronicles end.

No thanks, don't smoke. :)

I worship at the Altar of Linden Avery every day.

I wish I were a girl (for many reasons, now including) so I could dress up as Linden at a Con. To do TC I'd have to lob off two fingers.

You want to be a girl, and you're concerned with having fingers removed???? 8O

She did it to get Covenant back.

You were wanting two more books from Linden's POV?

I'm willing to bet Linden remains the POV character, even with Covenant back.

As much as I love Linden, I'd love to see the next book from TC's POV like "The Wounded Land"; I've missed him. And then for "The Last Dark" to have it from both their POV like "White Gold Wielder" was.

I have this feeling though that Linden is going to sacrifice herself in some way to prevent the rousing of the Worm. If that happens she may redeem herself in THOOLAH's eyes. 'Course, I'm probably wrong about that feeling... :?

In any case, I still hope some of the Elohim have to Appoint themselves to the task. So sick of their petty whining...

Who or what is a THOOLAH? Help a long time noob out.

I've actually never cared for Linden at all. Nothing about her invokes any kind of feeling whatsoever. She has a complete lack of personality about her in my mind. Her incessant introspection is exhausting. I neither root for her or against her.

THOOLAH: "The Holy Order Of Linden Avery Haters." They suck. :D

I feel the opposite for Linden: I think she's a dynamic character, faults and all. I've loved her since page one of TWL and rejoiced when she was the POV character for TOT. And I will continue to root for her no matter what happens or what she does because I trust SRD; he knows what he's doing.

Take that THOOLAH! :)

Oh come on. At the very least waking up the worm would result in a pretty nice kablooie explosion type scene. If TCTC ever did become movies it'd make for a pretty cool finale.

Hmm, well I suppose becoming a girl only requires the loss of one extremity...and the gain of two.

Ya, I'm sure that covenant will have some knowledge to keep hidden, and so having a chapter which lets us see into his head might be a problem.

I agree that FR makes THOOLAH redundant, but not for the reasons cited above. Simply put, there's now a proponent of the for the group INSIDE the story - where real change can be affected. He's taken up the THOOLAH banner ... okay, SWORD ... and swings it mightily at her neck whenever he has the chance. (figuratively? I think not.) Perhaps the THOOLAH creed has slipped into the mind of the Creator himself, who then unconsiously created the tool needed to carry out the one simple demand of the organization ... SLAY HER! :-)
