I've been having some trouble with video playback on my comp recently. Whenever I play a video in my browser (which uses Quicktime), and with some videos in winamp, the picture comes out tinted heavily in pink.
I have an Nvidia GeForce 7600 GT, and I updated to the latest drivers a few days ago, round about when the problem started. I had also updated quicktime on the same day. I've since rolled back my video drivers to the previous (working) version, but the problem has persisted. I'm pretty sure it's the drivers that are the problem, as winamp only does this when "hardware overlay" is turned on.
Anyone know what causes this, and how to correct it?

I recently had a problem with a video driver update. I applied most current patched to my sister-in-law's computer and World of Warcraft started getting a DirectX error about not being able to start 3D acceleration.

I rolled back the video driver upgrade and was back in business.

You may need to do that. Under My Computer you can show System information and get into Managing drivers. Double clicking on the Video driver should give you an option to roll-back.

The problem seems to come and go--sometime it plays the videos fine.

guess when you get to be my age, you don't read as carefully as you should!! The other suggestion I have .... beat it with a hammer!!

I think I've found out what it is. It might be related to my recent purchase of Half-Life 2--apparently playing Source engine games can sometimes make it happen.
