West Wing

Any fans of the show? I've only seen parts of a couple episodes, and they were extremely good. But it just started in syndication last night on Bravo, so now I've also seen the first episode.

In all cases, what I've loved is the president's morality. He's a very strong Christian. I am very far from being a Christian, so I won't agree with him often on his religious ideas. But I really couldn't care less about that, because he doesn't try to make them public policy. What I care about is the morality he gets from his interpretation of it all, which I DO agree with the few times I've seen.

Hey Fist, I started watching it last night too. Never seen it before. I thought it was really well done. I watched it again tonight. Your right about the president's morality...and let me say that I think Martin Sheen plays him very well...I loved how they waiting until the last 10 minutes to actually "introduce" him. And when he came in...it sure was powerful. Loved it.

I'm not much into politics, I have a real problem with most politicians (that's all I'll say about that...one thing I've learned over the years is never ever talk about politics, a war usually ensues) But, I think I'm going to enjoy this show, I found myself laughing quite a bit. Especially over Rob Lowe's charactor trying to get permission to call the "call girl"...LOL! And the other one, Josh, fretting over his ex girl friend joining the staff...oh and she sure is a kick!

Sad about Maurice tho :(

Well...here I am babbling again...*taps her forehead, "sleep" *

Peace,
Furls Fire

Yeah, I really liked that last-10-minute ploy too. :)

I'm taping the shows, and watching them the next day, so I haven't seen #2 yet. I can't wait to see the one where they have their equivalent of that Dr. Laura radio woman who preaches against homosexuality. That's all I'll say about it, but it's the one I was told about the first time I heard of the show, and the great scene in it is one of the two scenes I've seen. (Aside from the 1st episode now.)

I agree that he does an EXCELLENT job as the president! Not sure why I'm so surprised, because I don't remember if I've actually seen him before. I know he's been in LOTS of stuff, but I don't know if I've seen any of it. Anyway, he does this smart/strong/compassionate/fair role extremely well.

:) I'll survive. I've been known to watch episodes of shows that I've already seen, after all. :)

That scary thing about the West Wing's impact is that there really are people out there that believe that Martin Sheen is the President of the United States. Any1 who gets arrested once a year at Los Alamos Nat'l Laboratories protesting for world peace has my vote! :D

People literally called the Navy when Gilligan's Island was on, saying things like, "There are Americans stranded on an island in the Pacific! Why aren't we doing anything about this?!" I swear! At least according to True Hollywood Story. And I well believe it.

I try to follow the West Wing too, but they are all they way up to season 4 here. (It's election year again.)

I came to know this series through the dvd release, so I'm way behind. But I love it!

Here's another great one: During the prayer request portion of a church service, one little old lady raised her hand and said "I want you all to pray for Hoss Cartwright, he got shot tonight."
