Fantasy is cleaning up during National Novel Writing Month

For those who don't know it, November is National Novel Writing Month. That's what the NaNoWriMo stands for in my avatar. You pledge to write a 50,000 word novel in 30 days. (Or unofficially to write the first 50k of your novel in 30 days...which is what I'm doing.)
One statistic that NaNoWriMo tracks is Word Count by Genre.
Fantasy is #1, and SF is #3. What's most intriguing (and sobering, because it means more *#$*@#& competition) is the enormous gap between Fantasy and the #2 genre, which, comically, is "Other Genres".
