Well.......Mr Infelice surprised me today. He secretly went out and bought the TTT dvd ....(my suspicion was immediately aroused. So I went to see if my fine china set was still intact......it was)
Although I had seen the movie 9 times at the cinema ..... it was ssssoooooo good to see it again.
All my fave scenes, lines, THE MUSIC, and
Aragorn came rushing back to me.
There are two discs like FOTR, the first being the complete theatrical version of TTT and the second containing docs and tv specials of TTT and also a feature on the upcoming Extended DVD, which I'm also getting.
Havent seen all of the second dvd yet.....cant watch it and be here at the same time.

I'd be willing to bet that Infelice and Furls would love the movie even more if Jackson put Mortensen in a speedo and exorcised the plot, heh . . .

Foul, you are the second most disgusting person that I have ever met.
*points at mirror* That's the absolute first most disgusting person.
(Sorry, but I can't help that I like Pork&Gravy flavoured dog food with Milkbones! Hmm.... This lycanthropy thing is getting unpleasant.)
Aaaaanyway, I decided to rent TTT and I really liked the part where Gimli says, "You'll have to toss me. Oh, oh, don't tell the elf!" (something to that effect. I should've had the subtitles on. But hey, I don't really have time to find the remote. I think I chewed the buttons off it anyway.)
So, eh, what was I saying? Oh, yeah, the movie. I particularly liked the bit about the Ents. Wonder if you could learn Old Entish..... Hmm, I think I'll have to look for a book on that.

oh no no no Foul...he's just FINE the way he is... You know, Jackson did a good job casting him. He's exactly what I always envisioned Aragorn to look like in my head while reading the books. I can't wait to see him crowned King Elessar of Gondor in ROTK

Anyway, I'm talking about the LOTR books to a guy at work who has only seen the two movies, when this woman, who I think of more as
Nope, not gonna say it even in spoilers.
than a woman, starts telling him that Aragorn and Arwen didn't have any kind of romance in the books, that it was only for the movie. He had "tunnel vision" and was only interested in becoming king, so he had a political marriage with someone or other. What an idiot!!

Well, Arwen is definately in the movies more then in the books...BUT...it was NOT a political marriage...good LORD. Arwen gave up immortality for Aragorn. Now THAT is LOVE!!!

I don't think it would be possible to cast a movie better than LOTR. To me, every character looks exactly the way they should! Aragorn has always been among my top few favorite characters of all literature, and I couldn't be happier with whoever the heck it is playing him.

Well, Aragorn has never been my favorite LOTR character but I am quite happy with him. Personally I think Legolas is a lot too human in the movies, but it is probably difficult to get the otherworldliness of the elves across convincingly (ref. Galadriel).
I am a bit unhappy with the way they treat Gimli and the dwarves though, they are more like a bit of comic relief than an actual people. I agree that Gimli is not really an important person in the story, but still.

Yeah, I agree... poor dwarves.

Got the TTT DVD--and wow! The 10 minute preview of ROTK at the end had my jaw on the floor . . . I haven't seen or read one thing ROTK-related, to save myself of any spoilers. But I just couldn't ignore 10 minutes of it on my DVD! *Drools* It’s gonna be better than FOTR and TTT combined!

I am goign to watch it tomorrow with my children.

They have a four day weekend from school, so we will probably watch it two or three times in the next day or so.
