Movie might suck but it's really really cool to see IJ is back.
Why oh why did they wait so dad burn long?

Oh, hell yeah!
I'm still not quite sure how to feel about this Crystal Skull thing. What I've ever heard about it is alien in nature. But it has usually been on sci-fi shows or whatnot so I really know nothing about the actual mythology. But aliens don't really fit into my view of what makes Indiana Jones. It's always more been the religious artifacts with magic power more than sci-fi.
I'm not sure if we should use spoiler tags for discussing the teaser, so better safe than sorry....
The Roswell thing seemed to imply they are going with the alien thang. I guess if it is a lot of fun, it won't matter to me, and from what I'm seeing so far, it looks like lots of fun. Cool that they are revisiting the place where the Ark was stored. And all the action shots look really good. Can't frickin wait, and so happy that Marion is back.

Raiders of the Lost Ark is consistently in my top ten favorite movie list, Temple of Doom just flat out sucked, and the 3rd installment was....ok. This looks like it might have some promise but I'm a little leary!

I watched it. I think the "not like the old days" gimick worked in a teaser, not sure I want to watch a whole movie like that.
The hat's still iconic, tho.

I really like Shia Labeuf's work lately. Looks like it'll be good.
I'm also glad to see the Random Government Containment Warehouse back in action.

The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull . . .?
Is there some unwritten law in Hollywood scripts now that titles have to be lame?
I'll reserve judgement, but I have very little hope. Raiders is one of the greatest films ever, and Temple is just bloody astounding . . . but I'm not sure if the geriatric adventures of Indiana Jones should have ever been chronicled.
On a related note to a thread in the Star Wars forum, George Lucas sure does love to milk a good cash cow.

Temple was the worst movie in the entire trilogy, and it was a prequel. Herr Doctor Jones is only bad-ass when kicking evil Nazi ass to maintain the virtue of our precious, precious artefacts.

The whole theme of the Raiders movies is done as a homage to the serialized cliffhanger 'B' movies of the 50s, which all had titles that, like all the Raider movies have copied on purpose, were rather fanciful and strange sounding enough to bring in the mostly young boys.
I liked all the movies, but the 2nd was rather dark. The 3rd was a riot! This new one is done a decade too late, but should still be good.

Well, yeah, obviously - but they still weren't lame.
Raiders of the Lost Ark is a good title, and
Temple of Doom (the most over-the-top), still has a nice ring to it. I dunno, this new title just sounds, well, stupid. That's all my opinion, of course, and silly title or not, it really has no impact on the film's enjoyment.
As for fighting Nazis, that's always good, but
Temple was far better than
Crusade because it tried less to live in the shadow of
Raiders. Anyway, a deranged Thuggee cult is just as cool as Nazis as villains.
Personally, though, I think he's just
too old.

Could we merge some of the unpromising titles? Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Quantum of Solace?
Actually, I think keeping my punctuation in the title might be a good idea too. Gives it an air of enigma.

How about a
Indiana Jones and the Enigma of Covenant Jr?

I shall work on my enigmatic...ness... Damn, how am I meant to be enigmatic if I can't even describe it? Now just bear with me for a minute or two while I try to disappear from the thread using sleight of hand...

I'm sorry I have to be the one to say this, but I'm very excited about IJ4. Despite the title, despite Shia LaBeouf, despite the fact that Harrison Ford is 65 (but still hot) and despite the fact that it might suck, I'm still excited.
Indy's back and I couldn't be happier.

Yeah, I'm excited too. I'm not quite sure why 65 is too old to kick ass. Sean Connery was kicking ass still when he was 65, and nobody said anything about that.
And to be honest, I think the title fits right in with the previous ones. In fact, I think it is a better title than Temple of Doom that really didn't have much to do with what was going on. Part 3 was a little vague too, but made sense. This one at least sets up that we are talking about that Crystal Skull, kinda like if they called the third movie Indiana Jones and the Search For the Holy Grail. Hell, it's got me excited. Aliens notwithstanding.

The trailer looks good! I'll definitely see this.

I just watched the trailer. Not impressed. In fact, I'm almost going to go out of my way not to see it. What's with the sudden invulnerability of Jones? In Raiders and two movies following, he gets hurt from so much. Now he can swing into a moving truck, smash it's window, and hit the back of it and feel no pain. It's like he's Invulnerable Anniken. Oh yeah, and he's swinging around like a Jedi.
But the worrying part is that it's looking likely there are aliens - or alien artifacts. Did anyone see the Roswell Crate?
Plus, Ford is looking too old.
This is going to be bad.

That's a real good point Lore. In the first film, Indy gets his ass handed to him more than once. This does not look good.
Cag, I've seen Sean Connery. I know Sean Connery's films. Harrison Ford is no Sean Connery.
