Alan Rickman as Findail

Reckon Rickman, in a mood like his Severus Snape, would be a great Findail - maybe a little less oily, but the air of long-suffering-ness and self-pitying snideness seems a good fit to me.

Rickmon is a fine actor but comes across as being somewhat comical.

Rickman doesn't have the haughtiness that is required for Findail. He'd be a better Milos.

Jonathan Harris (Dr. Smith, Lost in Space) would have been the quintisential Findail.

how tall was Findail?
For some reason I picture him being around 5'2" or 5'6" at the tallest.

There's always Christopher Lee. Quintessentially haughty!

Do we have any good pictures of what the Elohim look like?

I'm not sure about Christopher Lee. He's an imposing presence, whereas I imagine Findail as someone with kind of a "meek" demeanor, who likes to slinks into the background as much as he can. Not saying Lee couldn't play him, though. Anyway, after Lee's disappointment in having some of his Saruman scenes cut out of the LOTR movies, he probably won't be interested at all in playing another faerie/wizard type guy in a creamy white robe. :P

That sounds as good as anything else. I'm not sure if the Elohim's height in their human guise was ever mentioned. It's probably not relevant, anyway. When you're Earthpower incarnate, you can be as tall or short as you want to be. Though I guess they'd rather be tall than short, in order to better look down on other "lesser" beings - although with Findail, he probably sagged his shoulders a lot.

I was privately thinking that any role that requires long hair and a creamy white robe might feel familiar for Lee. :D

I'm not sure who else I'd pick.
