Who are your favorite "bit part" chars and why?

So, here we're talking about characters who don't have too many scenes in the books... people/beings who maybe show up in at most 3 to 5 chapters. (though that's not a strict requirement) There were so many awesome people of the Land...

My favorite "bit part" character would probably be the Unfettered Healer in TPTP. I love that whole chapter so much... an obscure little old woman in Morinmoss ...and the fact that she knows this is going to be unfathomably painful and costly, and probably kill her; she won't even be recognized by the one she has helped. I also love her little song (something about a tool in the hand... and/or maybe a vessel being used to hold water) and her reflections on how it was so much easier back when there were other people around to help her.

I also really like seeing who Triock becomes by the time of TPTP. (I was actually pretty furious with him in LFB.)

The One Tree provides a couple of examples for me Lina:

1.The HarbourMaster (can't recall seeing a name for him) was a bit of a pain but provides the "we have rules" tragi/comic relief and

2. Rire Grist had possibilities of developing into a likeable character

I got nothing else here

Why, Nom, of course!

Sure, he doesn't say much, but he has a hell of a presence. 8)

Are Amok and Lord Hyrim too 'big' of characters to be considered 'bit-part' players? If not, I like them. Also Sunder's father Nassic.

lol - yeah. Always disappointed TC didn't get him to give him a snog before revealing his identity.

The Bloodguard who broke down on the Watch. (Tull/Runnick?) I found that quite shocking...

Ditto.

Also, the Unfettered One in (I think it was) The Wounded Land.

Hmmm...I don't recall any Unfettered One in The Wounded Land, unless you're referring to Nassic (who technically wasn't Unfettered).

How about the Unfettered One in LFB who mustered a charge against the ur-viles who were decimating the Wraiths at the Celebration of Spring? He appeared in the story for only 2 pages, but he made a vivid and lasting impression on me.

Good call on Memla, amani. Although IMO, she was much more than just a bit player.

Didn't an Unfettered take in Marid and associate from the ice storm, until the other injured stonedowner appeared in "possesive" form? :?

Oh, good one. As far as "real world" characters go, I kinda like Megan Roman even though she seemed like a real bitch; and of course Dr. Berenford.

First Chronicles: Tohrm the Hearthrall who looked up to Covenant, he seemed like a smart-ass, which I like!; Quaan who never trusted TC at all; and I always liked Callindrill and his wife Faer.
Spoiler
Too bad he died at Revelwood.
Second Chronicles: Hamako for sure, although not sure whether he's considered a "bit player" or not; Heft Galewrath was pretty cool; and the Lady Alif.

Nobody comes to mind with the Last Chronicles yet.

Good thread, Lina! :)

That's from tPtP, and IIRC the Stonedownor was Triock. That was the Unfettered One who had the wraiths with him, and was trying to learn how to read the rock.
