Yep, the time has come to finally get rid of those six large boxes of comics in the basement. Have finally catalogued them all, and will likely be putting them on eBay or Craig's list ...
gads, but going through them I was struck by nostalgia ... still would love to keep them, but they do nothing by take up space in reality. I will likely keep a few of my favourite stories (a few in Daredevil).

Oh, end of an era...

I have 15 long boxes of comics. They are in the way and hard to store but they ain't goin' nowhere!!!!!!! After my family the comics are the very next thing I'd try to save in a fire. :-)

Got a rough idea of the amount, Sarge?

Seems to me the more you have the more you can afford to part with but dad blast it I can force myself to part with any of 'em. Sure I've given some to dAN for presents knowing he was missing bits and bobs of his collection but the very idea of selling them off wholesale just makes me shudder.

and if anybody is just giving them away - send me a list for chimp's sake.

If only I knew then what I know now...

Between my brothers and I, we had close to 170 comic books dating from the mid 1960's to the early 1980's.
But they were all thrown away years ago, before the comic craze went into full swing.
*insert "kicks-self-in-ass" icon here.*

Even had first edition of Fantastic Four (two-parter),
House Of Mystery, and Tales From The Crypt.
(Latter two were almost magazine-sized.)

I've long since given up on the idea of trying to catalog mine. Maybe when some kids are out of highschool and away. Another dozen years at least.

Usivius, seriously, how big of a deal is it to keep six boxes of comics in the basement?
Are you that bored with cleaning your home that there's nothing else to throw away?????
And to make way for what?
Go through your closets and throw away/donate anything you haven't worn in over 3 years first.
At least the comics has some sentimental and entertainment value!

LOL... well truth be told, they are rather large boxes and they do take up a fair chunk of space in our very small house. The 'basement' I refer to is a referbished basement/laundry-room/bedroom, and with my eldest daughter using said room as her bedroom AND studio (she is an aspiring fashion designer), things have come to a head.
Yes, the nostolgia is priceless and some of the titles bring back memories, but -- well, has anyone seen that show where they go in to someone's home and help them clear out all the "junk" they have?... well, when it comes down to it, I realize that the comics do nothing but sit in boxes. I don't read them anymore, but I have enough of an attachement to them not to just give them away .. yah, call me materialistic, but I want to at least get something back for them.
BUT, I will be keeping some stories ... a lot of Daredevil stories .. involving Elektra, Bullseye, his trip to hell, all are masterpeices... and some mini-series but over all, I figure they have to go.

Oh, well. Life goes one...
;)

I have most of them, but if you have #'s 29-35, let me know.

Usivius, I'm most interested in the Hulk, Spiderman, and Daredevil you have. Especially Daredevil 163, where I totally kicked his ass. Sorry, DD, I tried to tell you I was having a bad day, but you just wouldn't let it go, would you? Hope you've paid off that hospital bill, loser!
