Just wondered if anyone has read this series. The author's name is David Farland. Thought I would give it a read. Looks interesting. So, if anyone has read it, could you give me your opinions of it?

Thanks,
Furls :)

I have not read those books. But I suppose I should. I guess I may as well tell everyone that, before I came to Cold Mountain, in the Westron Mountains of this Earth, I was from the Earth of another reality. And there, I was known as Odin. As the discoverer/inventor of that Earth's runes, I suppose it would not be out of line for me to read everything there is to read about any runes.

Don't forget, runes work best when they are carved into the stone, or whatever medium you are using, and you fill them with your blood.

I know, I know. Listen, that's the way they work!

Yes, some of the people here have a difficult time taking things seriously.

I've found that snake venom and other various potions work too. :) Not to mention the fact that animal blood works good too.

I have read the first three Runelords books. I liked them. They had some good and original ideas. Particularly the magic system and its effects on the society were well thought-out. The books all tell of only a few days in a detailed fashion, but they are days in which a lot of things happen. Regretfully the pace slowed down in the third book and it wasn't as interesting.

And I guess Moorcock has a 4-volume series called The History of the Runestaff.
