Official word from yesworld.com is a YES tour in '08, looks like July/August. Likely the closest to me will be Atlanta.
Yes will be Anderson, Squire, White, Howe, w/ Oliver Wakeman (yes, Rick's son) on keys.
They're also talking about some new material too...

I saw Yes about 8 years ago at the Blossom ampitheater in Ohio, they kicked ass. Very technical, very tight, as a singer songwriter in a band of my own I found myself humbled in their presence.

Probably the closest to me will be Jacksonville again. This will be tour number...six.
Time to bring Beorn...
(although I guess technically "Union" could be considered Beorn's first concert, as I was seven months pregnant with him at the time)
...or was that the Peter Gabriel show???

I saw the ABWH tour... that was as close as I want to get to seeing Yes live anymore (AMAZING show)... although I wouldn't have minded seeing them when they toured with an orchestra instead of a keyboard player...

Yea, that was a good show (and they did have a keyboardist too).
Dan, hopefully you'll have a new job soon enough to go to the show!

Dan... get a job and catch them in Tampa!
I plan to attend. (This would make the third time for me.)

Today WIND-FM has been giving away pairs of tickets to the Tampa show on the hour. My speed-dial button pushing finger has been getting a work out. Haven't scored yet though...

Don't give up hope, Menolly.
That's how I got to see about a dozen or so concerts.

Yeah...
We'll probably try to buy some Saturday morning anyway. I don't know if the radio station will have anymore as the concert gets closer.
Definitely didn't score today.

...leaving in about half an hour to get in line for tix to the Tampa show...
Let me know if any of the Tampa contingent is also going. The show is on a Thursday. My hope is Hyperception will take off work, so we can leave around noon and avoid rush hour traffic. Don't know if we'll tailgate in the fairgrounds parking lot, or if we'll plan on eating somewhere. I've always wanted to try the Columbia, but I honestly have no conception of where that is in relations to the Fairgrounds, or if they do a late lunch/early dinner seating.

Got my pair of tickets.
If the seats I was shown on the chart are actually the seats I got at the amphitheater, they're not too bad. Problem is the section listed on the tickets didn't match any of the sections depicted on the chart.
*shakes head*
Ah well...
Even if we can't see much, at least the music will make the expense and drive worth while.

YES CANCELS 40TH ANNIVERSARY TOUR
Here is the press release reagading the tour cancellation:
NEW YORK, NY, JUNE 4, 2008 - Legendary rock band Yes announced today
that the group will unfortunately be canceling their 2008 40th
Anniversary Tour. The 26-city tour was scheduled to kick off in
Quebec next month and run through the summer.
Said Jon Anderson, In the wake of my recent respiratory attack,
doctors have advised me to spend the coming months resting and
recovering. Unfortunately, this means I won't be able to tour with
Yes this summer as originally planned. I'd like everyone know how
deeply disappointed I am by this turn of events. I was looking
forward to celebrating our music with the amazing family of Yes fans
once again; but as we all know, health must come before anything
else. Wishing you all the very best...
Said Chris Squire, We were all looking forward to performing for our
fans after a prolonged leave of absence from touring. I am especially
regretful of the fact that I know many of our fans and friends have
probably laid out non-refundable airfares and hotels, etc. in order
to enjoy the Yes shows this summer. Please join me in wishing Jon a
speedy return to health, which at this point in time is our main
concern.
Yes frontman and founding member Jon Anderson was admitted to the
hospital last month after suffering a severe asthma attack. He has
now been diagnosed with acute respiratory failure and was told by
doctors this weekend that he needs to rest and not work for a period
of at least six months or suffer further health complications. Upon
receiving this news the band has determined that their tour plans
need to be put on hold.
Ticket refunds will be available at the point of purchase.

I heard an advertisement for a Yes concert at Ruth Eckert Hall in St. Pete, I think on Dec. 11th. They mentioned Squire, Howe and White by name, so I'm guessing Wakeman and Anderson won't be there. Still, I'd love to see them even if it's only 60% of them.
