Something about paired particles acting in sync in spite of the distance between them.

And I always thought "bioretributive" was more a punishment than an enhancement; you know, as in "retribution." Turning someone into a freak, and making them serve you, like the dismemberment girl.

Hahaha, not knowing the answer to your question is cheating. ;)

The phrase was due to an initial misunderstanding of how the Gap drive worked. Despite the fact that tachyons and FTL was not involved, they still used the terms "enter tach'" and "resume tard" to represent entering and leaving the gap.
