Has anyone seen this show on HBO?
I have watched the first two episodes that aired this past weekend. Boy, or boy, it is a good series.
I highly recommend that anyone interested in History watch this. I happen to be reading 1776 by David McCullough right now and it is a nice compliment to John Adams.

I'll have to wait for the DVD to come out, but I've been hearing good things about it.

David Morse in particular was spectacular. Definitely the most realistic accurate portrayal of Washington I've ever seen on film.

I got it for christmas, and watched the whole thing in 3 sittings. Amazing acting by Giamatti and the whole cast. I think Washington was dead on!
I have been a fan of Adams and have read the book when it came out. Adams was a true patriot and I am glad the series was released.
The Globes were handed out last night; glad to see Giamatti and cast were awarded some very deserving statues....

Very deserving - she gave the standout performance, IMO.

Just started watching this a few days ago, and I agree with the other posts that it's incredible.
I especially loved the moments after the vote on independence. Everyone was silent, as though now that they had actually taken such an important step, nobody knew what to do next
I'll have to put this on my "buy" list, but in the meantime I'm eagerly waiting for the next disc from Netflix.

Did you finish watching it, Rigel?
We should re-watch it. Dennis bought the series for me for Christmas one year. I am a huge Adams fan. I hope that when we go to New England next year we can spend a day in Quincy where Peacefield is and where both Presidents Adams are buried with their wives.
