Is this what I think it is?

Certainly looks like it. Looks like the Mordant's Need omnibus was successful enough that they're reprinting more of Donaldson's work.
Looking further, I see they have books 3, 4, and 5 in individual editions scheduled for release on the same date as this omnibus. Good to see they'll be getting this series back on shelves.

Good news, indeed. I can't wait to see the cover art!

-I wonder if TRS section will still have the Author's note...?
If it did, it would probebly have to be rewritten a little.

Wow. That's some amazing artwork. Donaldson always seems to get great artwork these days.

That really sucks. The original artwork is easily the best hes ever had in a novel, why don't they just stick with it if they aren't going to do something cooler?

Ugh. Not impressive. The Dreaming, if you are referring to the Paul Youll covers, I totally agree with you. I love that art. It fits the story perfectly.

I'll see your craptastic and raise it one ick.
Sheesh! What did they do, lift scenes from Space 1999?

No kidding. I mean, seriously, that is really crappy cover art. Someone actually looked at that and presumably looked at the original...and decided on
this?
I sure hope people don't judge books by their covers like I believe they do...

It's a bit bland, but not really better or worse than the existing UK cover art. There's a thing at the moment in the UK for minimalist art of this sort on SF/F covers, so it's not surprising.

I wouldn't go as far as to say 'amazing', but it's better than the
weirdly retro-looking ones I own.

Those do make it look like a lame Heinlein novel.

Looking at SRD's site it looks like the covers of the first two books were actually first done by a guy called Chris Hopkins.

Personally when i click on the covers I get a big white window of nothing, so I don't even know whats on the second cover.
And I don't like the new cover art either. I really liked the ships on the paul youll illustrations, especially the one on TDAGD (creepy buggy looking ship).

Whoops, my bad. I was referring the Paul Youll art - it replaced the original art from the hardbacks - (the Hopkins stuff) on the first two books when they went to paperback. Don't know why those covers aren't up on SRDs site.....
