Can't find older posts by specific members?

After you click on someone's name and it takes you to their page, and you click on "Find all posts by --", it takes you to the most recent posts that they have written. But when you hit "next" or try to go to a page of their older posts, it says, "No topics or posts met your search criteria"...what's up with that?

For this you posted? Welcome to the Watch. It's one of a few probs maybe. 1st is that the board isn't completely indexed for the search function since the last upgrade.

Or, if the person has too many posts the board sometimes has a fit trying to regurgitate them.

Maybe try use the normal search and search there by author, instead of using the profile link. But no guarantees. ;)

Yeah, the search function is full of bugs at the moment; usually "Find posts by author" is the most reliable way to find older stuff (as the search form suffers from the incomplete index), but as Av says, on people with larger postcounts it doesn't always work so well.

I've brought this up before and it was shrugged off :P

On a related note, the 'View Random Member' thing on the home page doesn't work either...

You could always close your eyes and pick a post at random.

It'd give about the same chances of finding it through the search. :D

What we should really be asking is "What is she checking up on???" ;)

Actually, your right there. Ask around if you ever need help finding posts. Most of us have certain areas pretty much memorized. :D

The Mods for whatever forums your looking at are probably a good bet.

Google has scoured our board and we should be searchable via google.
