Can't argue with any of those.

Conan the Barbarian is one of the great achievements of civilisation, besides which even things like the Moon Landings seem tacky. Conan the Destroyer could never fill those shoes, especially when they ditched Subodai for the comic relief side-kick. It's a fun film, though, and references a couple of the stories well.

Jaws 4 inspired this thread, I dont know how they even got the financial backing for this film, but I do know its the only film that I have ever seen in which a Shark roar's. So the genius who added the cheesey Godzilla war cry to the sound effects can have the credit for my vote, as for Conan the Barbarian that is a film worth remaking, not that I have a problem with the original, but a remake would give some new more capable actor (The Rock ) comes to mind, a chance to capture the true Conan character as he was written by Howard. Not the nice, humorous Arnold version.

Which brings up The Scorpion King.

What? WHAT? Come on!
HIGHLANDER II is without question the worst, intergalactic champion of bad sequels. Why did it take 8 posts to mention it? :-)

Highlander 2

Really dug the first one in that, "Well, it's kinda bad, but it works because they don't explain anything, and so it is just magic and fun with some spectacular scenes, and great music to boot." The second explained things, was badly done, but at least still had a touch of joy by including Sean Connery. But by that point, I was embarassed I had dragged friends along to see it in the theater with me. I never saw any of the others, and only an episode or two of the series. Really should not have explained things.

Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace

Gee...probably for precisely the same reason. The Force does not need to be explained.

Cags,

On Highlander I have but one thing to say...THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE! I wish to heaven that had been true.

On Star Wars Episode One I think you nailed it. :-)

No way. H2 is really, really bad, but Jaws 4 is the undisputed champion.

Okay Cail. I'll have to trust you on that one since, having watched Jaws 2 and 3, it never occurred to me to waste any mental energy on J4. Which begs the question: How do you know how bad it was?

I forced myself to watch it.

For starters, Jaws 4 was the first film to use, "This time....It's personal" as its tagline.

It's a freakin' shark....Nothing's personal.

The shark follows the wife of Chief Brody to the Caribbean to off the whole family.

Oh, and Mario Van Peebles (Sonny motherf*ckin' Spoon) is in it, and we all know that if he's in a movie, it can't be good (also see the Christopher Lambert Axiom and the Ben Kinglsey Conundrum).

Actually, I think the correct statement now should be, THERE SHOULD HAVE BEEN ONLY ONE!

I think I might have seen Jaws 4 at some assembly thing in Jr. High. I probably didn't stay, as it was pretty dumb, what I saw of it.

Yes, Highlander 2 is really really bad ... however it is hilariously bad... I enjoy watching it just because it is so tremendously bad...!

A Nightmare on Elm Street 2. The other sequels were, in many ways, worse than two, but two wins by virtue of basically being one long innuendo.

Also, Friday the Thirteenth part...er...9? The one that's deceptively sub-titled 'The Final Friday'. In which notorious zombified quasi-mutant serial killer Jason Voorhees becomes a slug that possesses the bodies of others, for no apparent reason. Pathetic.

I agree with Jaws 4. Bad movie. Also most of the Nightmare on Elm Street sequels and Friday 13th.

How about Caddyshack 2? People either love or hate Caddyshack (I thought Dangerfield and Murray were great). The second one just downright sucked.

Highlander 2 , great mention , and it definitely belongs. Its gross departure from the original storyline ruined the rest of the sequels to come after, and the TV series................ poop!

Highlander II and Raiders II. Yes, Highlander II is a much worse movie and sequel than Raiders II. But, although I love the first Highlander, the first Raiders is beyond great. Therefore, the disparity between the Raiders movies is worse than between the Highlanders.
