Yessir, it did.

I have no explanation of the Inner Workings of the Googlemachtocracy. I only know that it worked. The links on the cached page were live and took me to interior pages of the Hangar.

While that page is cached at Google, the links within the cached page still point at "live" content, they do not swap out the cached links necessarily for more cached version. For example, google New York Times, and go down to the wikipedia link four down. Click on "cached". While this is the cached copy of the page, all of the links on that page still point at other live links.

So, while the index page may have been a cached copy on Google, the links on that cached index page would still have pointed at the Hangar.

Haha, yeah, I figured out it was because of the internal links. But it means that the site is working fine for Ali. Even the internal links of the cached version don't work for me.

It worked though.
It's how I posted yesterday as well, once ali suggested it.
I just could not get to the Index, but the cache did get me to the forums and threads and recognized me as logged in.

The cached Index did not recognize me, so the orange dot tree didn't work, but I was able to click on each forum and go as logged in from there.

Av...
Is this something that first affected mods, and now is affecting admins? I think all of us who were affected yesterday are mods, whereas now you and danlo are affected...

As I said earlier, when I used IE, I was able to access the Index page without a problem. It was when I then logged in, that IE also gave me the White Screen of Death.

Although, I do think Duchess has said that she hasn't had a problem at all...

Is anybody at the Hangar *not* a mod?

Av, I think I see what you're saying -- the links on the Google cached page are not live links for you. Yes?

This is seriously odd...

I don't think Murrin, Cj, or StevieG are, and none of them reported problems...

I'm a mod, and I haven't had any problems with the Hangar.

You're a mod at the Hangar, dAN?
I didn't know that! That is so cool.
Which forum?

No, I'm a mod here.

ah, my bad. I wasn't clear then.
I meant, the two browsers I have, Firefox and IE, were able to access The Hangar's Index page before I logged in. But once I logged in, the White Screen of Death appeared, on both browsers. Those who reported it happening yesterday are all mods at The Hangar, as far as I am aware. Those who did not, were either admins or users.

Now, the mods and users are able to access, but two of the three admins are not. It just seemed...coincidental. But probably far-fetched.

I'm getting the White screen of death now! Can't access any of the forums via the cached page either...

OK, now I'm starting to freak out, I'm very concerned about what's going on there. I just created a gmail account and couldn't get on there. I can't access the Hangar through Firefox or Explorer. It is my understanding the Av and duchess can't get into the site either. Av tells me he is seriously trying to contact Vain. I will send Vain two more emails right now and attempt to access the site through Safari and Google Chrome.

Yes. I can get to any page through the cache. Even a lot of threads. But I can't log in via them, because for me all the pages they point to won't load.

Danlo...I don't think it's a browser problem Or that it's something to be too worried about. It is still available to some users, which means it's there. And the old phpBB2 one is still there. I can get to it and log in, no problems.

This might be something like a routing problem, which means it's the hosts problem. If it didn't exist anymore, we'd get a browser connection error, not nothing. And nobody else would get anything either. It's a big inconvenience, but I don't think it's a catastrophe.

It's just...weird.
Do servers allocate users to different access locations or something? It seems all the ones who couldn't get on on Thursday now can, and the ones that could now can't.

Will be interested to hear from Murrin and Cj...

Very strange. I have no problem now.

Me neither.

Don't worry, danlo -- we'll try very hard not to trash the Hangar while you're locked out.

Nope, still blank for me. Must have something to do with the routing. Can't think of anything else.
