I found this cool pic of the Sleestacks, and no thread to put it in.

Yes, they're making a Land of the Lost movie, and Will Ferrell is attached to it as the Dad, Rick Marshall.

I loved this show as a kid, but it seems so hokey now. Any idea of a rating, wayfriend? I don't know if I would want it to go too much beyond PG. Even PG-13 would sadden me for younger kids missing out.

No rating available - it's not due until 2009. I cannot imagine it having a PG-13 rating. It's the kind of movie that would be an AWESOME G movie, but it'll probably get a PG rating for language -- they can never resist the naughty jokes for the teen boys.

Funny that Will Ferrell is involved, as in Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back, he played a character named Marshal Willenholly. Maybe that's how he got the part.

I don't know, I think this is going to rule. I hope they do it up like the Brady Bunch movies. Maybe Will and Holly will finally hook up.

Here is a link!
quote:
the premise of the Land of the Lost movie:
"Before Mom dies, leaving the Marshall family shattered, she makes one last request that her ashes be brought to a Mayan archaeological site in Mexico, where she was working as an archaeologist to discover how one of the greatest civilizations known to mankind (the Mayans) simply disappeared. Once in Mexico, Rick, Will and Holly Marshall stumble into a wormhole, the same one through which the Mayans left our Earth, and journey to an alternate parallel universe, one in which the dinosaurs never perished 65 million years ago and have continued to evolve all this time. It is there that they are tasked with traveling through this strange world, encountering bizarre creatures along the way (Pakuni and Sleestaks, of course), so that they may find their way back home."
