Casting call

CASTING CALL -- Okay, I've given this some thought and I must say that Marlon Brando as the Tor is absolutely brilliant! Heath Ledger as Geraden is another excellent suggestion. Patrick Stewart as King Joyse however is a bit much though don't you think? I always pictured King Joyse to appear more like Richard Harris appeared in Harry Potter...old, feable but yet still somehow powerful and wise. But for Master Eremis I have what I feel is the definitive suggestion....John DeLance (better known as "Q" from Star Trek TNG) . . . . Opinions?

Skyweir - glad you approve of the suggestion for Eremis...I have what I feel is another difinetive selection for a Mordant character...Master Barsonage to be played by Wilferd Brimley (remember, the oatmeal guy?) "It's the right thing to do" / His persona and physical appearence match pretty closely to what I always pictured in my mind Barsonage would look like....opinions?

Dios: Yes, I think Richard Harris would be a perfect Joyce. Although Patrick Stewart is a fine actor, I would find it hard to believe that he was only a feeble old man. While Harris could be believable as both weak-Joyse and strong-Joyse.
I can see Patrick Stewart as...oh shoot, the name escapes me...the one who sent all of his wounded to Joyse because he was so angry.
AH!!! What's his name???
De Lancie as Eremis is good, too. I loved him as Q!

Yes! Thank you. I can easily see Patrick Stewart playing him. That grim face, that steely voice....
Harris as Joyce, Stewart as The Termigan or The Perdon?

That is an interesting choice ms. Tho, 4 some reason, I had my heart set on Nick Nolte playing the Termigan. I think it's probably bcause I've always envisioned him as a concrete block of a man, whereas I've always thought of the Perdon as more of a Stewart type...I also like the Richard Harris idea 4 Joyce--can look
very frail! But those who have followed Harris's career in such films as A Man Called Horse, The Unforgiven, The Wild Geese and Gladiator know he can b darn tuff and commanding when he wants 2 b...the real problem in casting would b 2 get the proper Havelock 2 oppose him--I think Malkovich fits in well w/Stewart as Joyce but may or may not work w/Harris (I dunno he's a dam good actor, could possibly pull it off) Havelock does remain, imo, the tuffest character 2 cast...btw ms welcome the MN and the Watch!

yes welcome msaligned .. good suggestions re cast .. I like Patrick Stewart or Nick Nolte for the Termigan .. PS could make a really good Joyse I think ..
I think Harris is a bit too old to play JOyse .. maybe ..
Otherwise I love Harris .. he is a great actor .. and does great wizards!!

Marty Feldman could've done Havelock, tho maybe he'd be a little too silly...

Castellan Lebbick

Hum. This seem to be a rather dead discussion, but I have to write here anyway. I found the most perfect Castellan Lebbick in an episode of the half-new Mission Impossible: there he played a really unpleasent villain and I believe his name is Grigor Taylor. I don“t now of anything else he has appeared in. But he seemed the perfect haunted type.

I always thought that Alan Rickman would be a great Eremis in a prince of thieves type of way!!!!
