Was this the Creator's design?

Why is it that only the people of the Land are the one whom have abilities that is akin to magic where people of Bhrathairealm do not.
The Giants gain the ability to understand languages as a gift from the Elohim yet they were known to live many generations in reguards to other people.
The Insequents were speciaized in abilities that far exceeded the normal (The Land) peoples and yet gained no health sense when traveling the Land. (eg The Theomach)
Kassern of the Gyre was an mage of power that exceeded normal abilities when he accepted the croyel. But no explaining where the orignal person who became Kassern has been revealed. Or where that mage learn his lore.
The haruchai have the ability of telepathy, a tolerance to pain and a fast healing ability plus some health sense and are immune to some effect(s) that were created by the Elohim beings(Kevin's dirt), yet they have not aquired the ability to wield lore like Keven did.
Is the limitation of Earthpower related to the proximity to the Land?
Is there pocket where Earthpower reaches out around the world?
These are a few question I would like to hear your interpretations.

Maybe because they have been born and raised through the generations on the Land and hence they have had access to the magic that seeps from rock, water and the soil.Wereas the kingdoms which surrounded the land dont have magic. And the Earthpower was only accesible in the Land(the residue of Earthpower). :!!!:

SRD has said that the Land is a place where Earthpower "flows close to the surface." It makes sense to me that if there is such a place, then likewise there would be a place where Earthpower doesn't flow close to the surface at all, like Bhrathairealm. It is a desert, after all.

The Giants did have stone lore that seems to be quite extensive - I'm thinking of Pitchwife, the cook pots where they made fire, etc.

Also, I think it's pretty clear that the Haruachai are in their own way beings of Earthpower just as the Ranyhyn are. How else could they swear a Vow with the Earthpower as witness?

Plus, they disdain all weapons, which would include lore?
Lets face it, an haruchai with a sword would be more powerful/dangerous than one without, but they disdain that. Their approach to lore/magic would be the same, therefore, 'ability' or not, they would never learn it.

And their abilities to craft stone into sea-faring vessels, Coercri, and Revelstone.

Donaldson has said this in the GI, too.

I think each race responded to what Earthpower was available to them in a different way. Look at this planet, each culture prospered and developed according to what raw materials and climatic conditions were available. (Read Guns, Germs and Steel for a fascinating explanation of this.) It's just diversity.

Yeah, Guns Germs and Steel rocks. I wonder if Donaldson's read that book yet..

But what of the Sandgorgons? They seem to be beings of Earthpower also.. In Brathair.. Seems there's plenty all over that world, you just net to know where to look.
