Merlin

This has potential i reckon, if only perhaps in a slightly twee, 'family-freindly' way.

...and Michelle Ryan as an evil sorceress? *loosens collar a little* phew! ;)

Also NBC have purchased the show, so you guys over 'the pond' should get to see it too

So this is a made-for-TV-BBC-show? I thought it might've been one of their wonderful documentaries. Oh fie... Then again, that chick does look good.

My immediate assumption is it'll be along the same lines as the recent Robin Hood. In which case, meh.

Probably. Bleh. Also, Michelle Ryan remains an annoying, squalling cockney to me.

Can't be worse than Sam Neill as Merlin TV miniseries from 1998 (that long ago?).

:shudder:

Is there any hope of ever seeing an adaptation of Lawhead's Pendragon cycle?

I highly, highly doubt it. I doubt it to the point that a Lawhead adaptation would cause me to fall over and sing Steely Dan songs in sheer shock.

If there is one, they'd better cast me as Myrddin. Or at least Bedwyr.

Saw the first couple of episodes last night. It's very family-friendly. Quite colourful and shallow, with fairly sloppy writing and a Merlin who is a whiny adolescent. Why does 'young' always mean 'annoying' when it comes to screen characters?

I'm still loving it, 3 episodes to go :D
