How many cars have you owned? What was your favorite?

I happened to be thinking about a few of the cars I've owned and suddenly realized that there were quite a few. I've been trying to remember them all and something else struck me as interesting. NONE of the cars I've owned recently meant as much to me as the ones I've had in the past. Just about every car I've had newer than say the 1980s have left little or no impression on me. The cars of the 60s or 70s seem to feel like they meant something.
In any case and for what it's worth here's the best list of cars of mine that I can remember.
1976 Cutlass Salon - First car. Just in time as I graduated from High School. Was already 6 years old. A repo that had been driven into the ground. Loved that car.

1973 Buick Century
1976 AMC Matador
1977 Pontiac Sunbird
1975 Plymouth Fury III
1978 Chevy Chevette
1977 Cutlass Supreme
1988 Dodge Shadow
1991 Dodge Colt
1986 Chrysler LeBaron
1986 Pontiac 6000
1989 Chevy Corsica
1987 Nissan Pulsar
1985 Nissan B-210
1978 Pontiac Bonneville
1997 Saturn SL1
1997 Ford Ranger
2004 Saturn ION
2001 Ford Ranger XLT
Wow. Far too many. Most were crap! I probably forgot one or two.
Always wished to own a Mustang. Never happened.
The second Cutlass and Me!

Let's see......
- 1974 Chevy Vega. 4 on the floor, and an absolute rust-bucket. Had it for three weeks or so 'till I caught air going over a hill and tore the rear out of it upon landing.
- 1975 Chevy Monza V8. Went like a raped ape, couldn't stop or turn worth a damn.
- 1980 Ford Fiesta. Great car. Wish I'd kept it. Sold it to my stepfather. The car finally died with around 400,000 on the odometer.
- 1979 Honda CM400A Hondamatic
- 1990 Jeep Wrangler
- 1991 Ford Festiva. Piece of steaming crap.
- 1992 Jeep Wrangler
- 1994 Saturn SW2
- 1993 Ford Taurus SHO auto
- 1993 Ford Taurus SHO MTX. Loved this car. Raced it every chance I got at Summit Point in West Virginia.
- 1989 Kawasaki ZX6 Ninja
- 1993 Ford SVT Lightning
- 1997 Volkswagen Jetta GLI MTX
- 1986 Toyota 4Runner MTX. Super fun truck. Absolutely indestructible.
- 2000 Ford Ranger Trailhead
- 2000 Ford Mustang GT MTX. I have no idea why people love these cars.
- 2002 Chevy Silverado Z-71
- 2005 Harley-Davidson Night Train
- 2005 Nissan Titan LE
- 2005 Ford Ranger XLT
- 1995 Ford Taurus SHO MTX
- 2007 Chevy Silverado Z-71
- 2008 Subaru Outback LL Bean
The last SHO cured me of that particular affliction. I sort of miss my second Jeep, and I'm completely satisfied with my Outback.

1981 Camaro, 3 in the floor with an in-line 6 cylinder engine. This was the little car that could. I hauled ass everywhere I went. Ran it into the back end of some idiot who had stopped in the middle of the highway for no earthly reason.
1990 Nissan Sentra. Tough little car with no air conditioning and no radio. I put nearly 100,000 miles on it in 5 years before I totaled it.
1990-something Dodge Shadow. Piece of crap. Hated it and got rid of it after only a few weeks.
1995 Ford Ranger. Great little truck.
2002 GMC Sierra extended cab z-71. Another great truck
2007 GMC Sierra 4 door z-71. My current truck, doesn't handle as well as my previous truck and is even thirstier if that's possible.
If I could have any of these cars back right now, it would be the Camaro.

Well the AMC was never really mine, was my wife's when I met her.
The Van I got from work (they were going to junk it so I bought it for like $100) Lasted 4 days before the u-joint said bye bye. Had it hauled off the next day. What a waste of my time.
dANdeLION has has some really great cars, vintage. I won't steal his thunder by listing them here. I'm sure he has pictures too.

1986 Audi 4000S (mine in 1991)
1988 Dodge Reliant K car (mine in 1993)
1990 Nissan Maxima (mine in 1997)
2001 Honda CR-V (new)
1999 VW Cabrio (mine in 2002)
2007 VW Eos (new)
The Eos is by far my most favorite car.

Despite being 47 I haven't owned that many vehicles. I tend to buy new and then run them into the ground. And by 'ground' I mean junkyard'.
1983 Chevy Cavalier
1989 Toyota Supra
1991 Dodge Colt
1992 Dodge Caravan
2000 Honda Civic
2006 Dodge Caravan
The Cavalier was all I could afford coming out of college. The Supra was my one auto-indulgence - an all around awesome car. My favorite, however, is easily the '92 Dodge Caravan since it was the vehicle in which we brought my wife & newborn daughter home from the hospital.

Then how, exactly, did you get Menolly to the airport?

Wait, never mind. I don't think I want to know....
When I was a new driver, I got to drive my parents' '67 Mustang. Ohhh baby, that was a cool car.

I can't tell you how annoyed I was when my dad sold it, years later.
Jenn, my parents had a '60-something Plymouth Valiant. My mom loved that car. Then my dad gave it to my brother, and he totaled it.
My cars:
-1962 Ford Falcon (with a manual choke -- went from 0 to 60 in about an hour and a half

)
-1973 Plymouth Fury named "Sherman the Tank" -- dark green with a white vinyl top. My dad wanted me to have a big honkin' chunk of metal around me. Urgh. I hated that car.
-1976-ish Chevy Chevette -- Yes! I sold Sherman for a Chevette!

Named it Petey. I loved the hell out of that car. Loved it even more after we found, and replaced, the cracked solenoid in the starter... I drove it into the ground and finally junked it out.
-1986-ish Honda Civic, named Blueberry. (The kids named it.) We bought it from a guy in a parking lot. The engine burned up almost immediately, stranding us somewhere in Pennsylvania on our way to Hersheypark.
-1992 Toyota Corolla, named Candy. (The kids also named this one.) I put over 100,000 miles on it and was sorry to get rid of it.
-2003-ish Toyota Corolla, named the Grey Ghost. I never really warmed up to this car. Traded it in earlier this year, after the "check engine" light came on twice in the space of 6 months.
-2008 Honda Fit, named "Fitz, son of Petey". I *love* this car! I've begun calling it my midlife crisis car.

I'm jealous. I love the Eos. One the most innovative convertibles out there. Looks really sharp.

With that kind of pick-up it's no wonder you never bothered naming this one!
My cars:
1971 Dodge Dart. Perfect first car. Built like a tank. Paid $100 for it and sold it for $400 a year later.
1980 Pontiac Sunbird. Ok car. Beat the hell out of it.
1987 VW Golf. This was my favorite car. Bought it brand new a year after high school. Drove it everywhere. Handled well, great acceleration. It was 9 years old and had 120K miles on it when it was stolen. I was so bummed.
1990 Ford Marquis. What a hunk-a-junk. This was another tank. Power everything, but nothing worked. I buried it less than a year later after the exhaust system took a dump, the last tire with some tread blew apart and the rusted out floorboard let in too much cold air.
1997 Ford Ranger. My second new vehicle. Still running. Very reliable and great for hauling most loads.

75 Chevy Nova - S*** brown, the doors were about to fall off, but ran like a champ.
78 Ford Fairmont
85 Ford Aerostar - Big mistake. I was always asked to help move people.
78 Chevy wagon
81 Chevy Cavalier - Ran great until the night I hit the deer. Interestingly enough considering the D&D game that's just started, I was going to play that that night. About the last time I did so.
91 Ford Tempo
94 Ford Thunderbird - always wanted a T-bird. Nice car. Engine died though at 130,000.
97 Ford Taurus - Memorable because I'd gotten a 100,000 mile warranty on it. At 99,200 the transmission went out. I cried tears of joy.
01 Chrysler Sebring - Roomy car. Too bad it was had to be totaled when some clown pulled out in front of me.
05 Chrysler 300 - 118,000 at this point on it and it runs fine. Comfortable car.

'72 Pontiac Grand Ville (big and powerful)
'76 Ford Granada (Worse vehicle I ever had)

'81 Chevrolet Custom C-10 Van (party mobile after high school)
'85 Chrysler LeBaron (piece of junk)
'85 GMC Jimmy 4WD SUV (loads of fun - still miss it)
'87 Chrysler New Yorker (land-yacht)
'89 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme (another beautiful car)

'90 Hyundai Excel (throw-away car)

I've loved all my cars for different reasons. They each had unique personalities of their own and i loved them for themselves.

I really only hated the Festiva and the Jetta. I'll never buy another VW again. Beautiful interior, went like stink, but something broke every week.
I periodically cruise Ebay looking for another Fiesta. If I could find one for $1500 or so, I'd pick it up in a heartbeat. Truly a great little car.

That pic of the Cutlass takes me back - I learned to drive in my mom's 1977 Cutlass Supreme. Man that car would run like a scalded dog.

First, a 1995 Citroen ZX 1.9 litre diesel, which I bought in 2004. It looked very much like this one:
Now, as of January this year, a 2001 Vauxhall Corsa 1.2, which I bought from my brother when he got a company car. I bought it in hopes of avoiding the constant repairs I had to have done on the ZX, but in the few months I've had the Corsa it's given me more trouble than the ZX ever did. Particularly galling since it never had the tiniest of problems while my brother owned it. It looks very similar to this one:
