Weretiger's Curse - Comments Thread

I'd like to hear and comments, complaints and suggestions here.

This is not a thread to discuss the events in the campaign, it's to discuss the mechanics of the campaign. If there's any aspect of it that you don't like in terms of how it's being run, I'd like to hear it.

If there's anything you particularly like, I'd like to hear it too.

Also, is anyone listening to the audio versions of the characters' speeches? (and if so, what do you think of them?)

I just listened to one for the first time.

Is that your voice?

Yeah. I'm doing a fake voice though, that's not how I sound in normal speech.

I love them, I really do.

[and no, I am not brown nosing..] ;)

...thanks for the verbal private practice run, master...

I listened to the first, but as soon as I determined it didn't have extra information, I stopped. :D Quicker to read. (Although I did like the voice. )

I tried to listen, but I'm missing a plugin, and had trouble downloading it. So no, I don't listen, but I would if I could.

Overall, I think you're doing a good job of running the game so far. I have to say, I liked your handling of the mayor during the negotiations.

Good job Nathan!
I love how your characters speak!

I think you could improve our experience with some pictures of the locations and characters... maybe also items... why not? ;)

I like the audio, though I admit I haven't listened to all of them.

I'm enjoying myself, but I must say this method of playing is unique - I'm frustrated a little by the pace, but at the same time, this is the only RPG I can play while ostensibly doing work at work. :)

Agreed.

The pace feels stifling, but I don't want to jump ahead of others who have less time to post. So, I am waiting for everyone to post at least once before attempting an action, unless I am directly addressed, or it goes longer than a day before everyone is heard from.

If I should post actions even more often, let me know.

Thanks for the comments!

I'm a bit frustrated with the slow pace of things as well. From now on I'll try to force things forward a bit more quickly. Normally the players dictate the pace of a game, but it's going to have to be a bit different here due to it not being run in real-time.

I've stopped doing the voices for now but I'll probably bring them back in a little while.

Is there any way for outside audience members to view the hidden information? Sheets, or inventory or anything? Given that I'm not planning on playing, and I won't disclose info.

Whatta ya think Nathan?

I have no problem with mine being shared with outsiders, Nathan...

I don't actually have a copy of everyone's inventory myself.

Also, the players aren't allowed to see one another's inventory and character sheets (for reasons of secrecy and roleplaying), so it's not viable to post them publicly for everyone else because there's no way to show them without the players seeing them.

You probably should have an inventory list for everyone though.

I think Balon was asking to have the character sheets and inventories sent to him, not posted for public view. I am still agreeable to that, if the DM is.

Yeah, I just meant the DM should know what we're carrying.

I suspect a lot of the pacing problem is my fault. I knew my new house lacked an internet connection (and I can't get one until the others move in at the end of september) but I didn't anticipate it giving me so much trouble. I have to walk to the university to access the net, and although it's not that far, I often end up thinking "Oh for pity's sake, I can't be bothered with hiking up there just to see what's going on."

I shall think on this.
