Andy Inhatko, technology columnist at the Chicago Sun Times, in his column the other day mentioned Pandora, an internet radio service. What you do is type in a song or an artist, and it'll play that music and similar music that it thinks you would want to hear. It seems to work pretty good. I started by typing in George Gershwin. Interestingly enough it started with a piece from Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake. But the piece wasn't out of line for what I was in the mood for.

This set, I typed in Michael McDonald. It started with his version of Ain't No Mountain High Enough, went to Hall and Oates She's Gone. Kenny Loggins, Steely Dan and now Ace have all played. I think Jenn might like this it's just like Yacht Rock.

I've tried Pandora a few times, I've got 6 stations, or artists, lined up. I pretty much forgot about it until they started offering it as "My Radio" on Yahoo! So I listen to it every once in a while, until it runs it's free demo and asks me to pay for the bloody service! :P (cheap Scotsman)

I used to really like using Pandora until they had to pull it from the UK circuit. Some legal rubbish had to restrict the usage to the US only.

Pantera on Pandora!

I don't really like Pantera, but I like the sound of it.

Arrgh... Fees that Pandora has to pay for the music may make them pull the plug on it.
