New Runes Cover

So I was browsing a bookstore the otherday when I noticed that Fatal Revenant was in some form of paper back and that the new covered RotE was released. Needless to say (I am typing, after all), I was not impressed to say the least (to say a little more, I was slightly appalled...). To get to the point of the topic, what's everyone's opinion on the new RotE cover illustration?

Well, I was able to find a paperback edition of FR on Amazon, but I couldn't find ROTE with the new cover. Can anyone provide a link or jpeg?

I couldn't find it either, just the UK version. Where did you see it, Orlion?

I've only seen the Runes of the Earth with the UK cover. I've seen both covers of Fatal Revenant and the US cover of that is horrendous. So that would mean that the US cover would be equally as bad. But i don't know of any 'new' cover..

It's actually sad, I saw it whilst browsing at barnes and nobles. It had a guy (probably Liand) turning to face the front with a couple of "horses" (Ranhyn) and a swirly greenish fog (reminded me of the new "Mirror of her dreams" cover) which is probably suppose to be a ceasure. I went the next day to get a picture, and they were gone! The help counter disavowed any knowledge of such books... So until they become more widespread, and my account is verified, I guess the poll should read, "Is Orlion crazy and seeing things?" That'd be embarassing
I'll keep looking though...

Has anyone actually seen or found a picture of this yet?

Here's one way:

post the pic to photobucket.com
copy the link to the picture
Come back to this thread, hit the reply button and paste the link into the blank field.
Highlight the link, then click the Img button above.

Can't find anything on Google matching that description :(

It's possible it was a different book, and you just wanted to see SRD on there :)

Sure looks real - why can't we find these books anywhere? I just checked amazon and it's not there.

It's real.

..and not as bad as it was (as far as I can see from the small pic)! It's the new US cover (paperback)

I'm assuming so. I suppose they're just selling older stock in bookshops? I must get myself a copy...even if the dude (Esmer I assume?) looks Greek (good call, Lurchy! ;))

they're not listed on Amazon.com (as of 2 days ago, I haven't looked since) and the website for the above bookstore either has a horrible search engine (no entries for "Donaldson" or "Runes of the Earth" or else doesn't have any copies left.)

I could make some inquiries, see how one would get a hold of these books, or at least a ISBN, once I return next week. I'll post information for those interested and just to increase my number of posts

hows this..any larger and it pixelates badly..

Interesting to note ..that instead of the metaphorical landscape,,we have Liand (?) looking directly at the Reader,,in a " ready to go" posture,,with the Ranyhyn in the background supporting the idea..Fascinating!....but where are the stars on the horses foreheads?
