I have been messing about with the Spore Creature Creator and came up with the above image representing a waynhim.

Too heavy-set for my imagination...think of them as skinny, wiry little guys...

I think I like the first one the most.. Though it may look closer to a Cavewight.

Waynhims aren't that much bigger than humans, and their arms and legs are shorter than what you've got illustrated there.. I like the look of theur faces though. You've done that well. Maybe show us a picture of one running with it's arms and legs if you can... And I think their skin is paler too.

yes..they were almost an olive green from what i remember...or a dull grayish green. I dont remember if they wore clothing of any type...i always pictured them in short gray tunics almost like what the haruchai would have worn...but then i pictured the urviles wearing hoodless black tattered cloaks... :D

I think they were naked though.

Hue of Bone...keep at it, try some other creatures too...Post your stuff in the laborium...I love seeing anything anyone comes up with... then i can see how others view the creatures of the land since everyone sees it differently.

Good work. I think of their faces as elongated and somewhat prehensile, since they have to do so much with their nose/mouth orifice. the body is good although somewhat stiff.

Hmm, you make me want to get the books out and dig for descriptions. I am humbled by the talent of the people on the Watch. I have none, so I live vicariously through yours. Keep bringing it on. It is so great to see SRD's imagination personified.

Great work, hue of bone! I am currently doing a re-read starting at book 1 so any reference I find to their physical appearance I will post here. Of course you should feel free to use your imagination as you see fit!

From LFB, our introduction to them via the Chapter 9 passage on the Waynhim found murdered in the Waymeet:

"Its outlines were generally manlike, though the torso was inordinately long, and the limbs were short, matched in length, indicating that the creature could both stand erect and run on its hands and feet. But the face was entirely alien to Covenant. A long, flexible neck joined the hairless head to the body; two pointed ears perched near the top of the skull on either side; the mouth was as thin as a mere slit in the flesh. And there were no eyes. Two gaping nostrils surrounded by a thick, fleshy membrane filled the center of the face. The head had no other features."

Thank you for that.
If you like to view "And tonights special guest is . . . DROOL ROCKWORM", there you wil find my attempt at a cavewight using same program.
