Problems with Firefox

Firefox won't launch. At all. I've uninstalled and installed the latest version. Any suggestions?

Thanks for the warning!,,Seems like everytime I download their newest version,, strange crap happens for a while.I've held off downloading 3.1 or whatever it is just for that reason.
.Your security settings? too high?..Also, I've noticed that on my Mac..when I have way too many fotos still in my computer..that if I get'em on a CD, then delete whats on my computer.. things clear up with Firefox....Clean out all your history? Got rid of all the " cookies" on file?...I know,, that none of that should make a difference,, but,, cleaning out the computer has always helped with Firefox .

I deleted the new version and went back to 2.0.0.16. Now I'm back online. But I've had a problem for a while that's now back. Whenever I launch Firefox, it gives a message about an unresponsive script. I have the option of stopping the script, or continuing. Either choice makes it launch, but it's an annoying delay.

I had a similiar problem with an older version of firefox, but the newest version sorted that out for me.

Homepage is set to Kevin's Watch, Stephenrdonaldson.com, Fox News, Beer Talk, Brews and Views, Answers.com, Hometheaterforum.com, . . . .etc.
I open with lots of tabs at once.

What OS are you running? I'm using Leopard and I haven't had a problem.

I suggest eliminating them one by one, or starting with one and adding them one at a time, until you find the one giving you the script error.
The google homepage was changed recently, and it frequently gives people obscure script-related errors. That's why I was wondering.

That does sound like a lot of tabs as well. The
Vertigo Firefox add-on very nicely organizes your tabs for optimal browsing.

Interesting. I have it installed on my laptop, which uses Tiger, and my desktop, which has Leopard, and with both the new version of Firefox seems unstable. I've had ongoing problems with it closing.

By any chance do you encounter the following problem: a newly loaded page lacks all sorts of script making it look really bizarre (essentially every page just looks like it would if you used the "No style" option under View), and then the browser has difficulty shutting (except by Force Quit)? On Tiger I had that problem all the damn time with Firefox. On Leopard it's much more efficient. Could be the upgrade to Firefox 3 too, but I think it's the OS update rather than the browser.
