I have a kind of funny story about him. About 25 years ago he came into where I worked and asked me a question. I didn't recognize him and I totally blew him off because I was on the phone, and waved another woman over to help him. I finished my phone call just as he was walking out and looked at the woman who had helped him and she had this dreamy look. I was like, "What's with you?" "That was Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward."
Well, to be honest I would have liked to have told my Mom I helped him, she was his generation and she would have swooned.

What an actor. I think his best performance was in The Verdict, and I also love his role in Road to Perdition.
