Who are Lord Fouls parents, and did they live long enough to see him start becoming spitefull?

As to the ravers: Same question.

Old Lords: Who are Bereks parents?
Loric, Damelon, and Kevin: Who are there mothers?

Do any of the above have descendants, brothers or sisters, etc?
Do any of the above have a continuing family line and how long did it continue?

I doubt Lord Foul has parents, especially if the creation myths are true and the Creator threw him down.

I reckon we'll hear about the Ravers mother more in the Last
Chronicles.

Yes, sincere welcome to KW, alanjhorn! Interesting questions and comments from Warmark. I guess it depends what "threw him down" actually means. Could he have taken a human birth to parents already existing or did he just take human form as part of the process of being trapped within time? Out of curiosity, what leads you to believe that we will see something about the Ravers' mother? Thanks in advance...

Lord Foul's parents are Mr and Mrs Schitthaupens. Now, they,,being Clarence Schitthaupens and one very pretty Helga Liggensplatz married at a young age in the olde country and early on decided to seek their fame and fortune elsewhere feeling restricted in the Dukedom of ParteiAlles Jahr. They set sail for the Land ,,aahhmm..30,000 Land years ago , which is 1919 in our time, and arrived on the shores of the Land at the mouth of the LifeSwallower and felt rite at home with the little Foulness due any day after the 3000 year trip,,or July of 1919 our time.

No house would stay standing amongst the bog and quicksand of LifeSwallower so they moved down the shore to the jut of Hot Ash Slay where little Lord Foul became who he or it,,is today. Clarence and Helga enjoyed fighting each other with words and every now and then a bit of physicalness was not unheard of. No day was complete without one of the paltry meals slung and splashed up on the dining room wall in frustration and angst over something not important. The verbal heated exchanges were witnessed by the little Schitthaupens and he or it became skilled in the " take down" of another person by the skillful use of antagonism and vindictiveness. His parents were quite proud of him by the time he was reaching his teens. On his fifteenth birthday he burnt down the house he grew up in,,with his parents still in it, who were fighting over Clarence's inability to get that promotion on the local Crab boat,,and thus only had a second or two to delight in the Man that Foul had finally become. According to family records, Foul then wandered off into the LifeSwallower and ,,those years, thousands ,,remain a complete mystery in their accountability of what Foul experienced and became knowledgable of. Alls we know is,, The Creator found him and put him back on the map......

"Who are Lord Fouls parents"

Why, Covenant and Linden, of course, insofar as LF is an externalisation of their own inner Despiser.
Or, if you reject this point of view, LF is a supernatural immortal being, a god if you like, I doubt he has any parentage in our mortal sense.

I agree with aman. However, one might wonder if the "real" story is parallel to that of God and Lucifer. It sure sounded that way to me. So both the Creator and Foul are super-beings who just happened to disagree.

I'm pretty sure that Berek, Damelon, and Loric had a descendant.
Not sure about the rest.

I have to disagree, Rocksis, with the God/Lucifer analogy. God created Lucifer, who was one of his head honchos in angeldom; Lucifer got proud and decided he wanted to be God. God cast him out of Heaven along with the 1/3 of the angelic beings who decided to follow him.

In the TC Creation story, the Creator is not said to have created Foul. Instead they both seem to have been god-like beings, but Foul was less interested in creating than in messing up someone else's creation. (It's always easier to tear down than to build up.)

In the Bible story, God is all-powerful, all-knowing, omnipresent, and all-loving; Lucifer (aka Satan, the Devil) is NOT. In the TC story, neither Creator nor Foul is all-powerful, all-knowing, nor omnipresent.

So the question "Did Foul have parents" also leads to the bigger question "Did the Land's Creator have parents"?

Personally (pure speculation) I'd like to think so. I like to think that the Land's Creator is an earthly human being who figured out some cool way to open up an alternate universe. In that case, Foul is part of his personality (human beings being flawed and all). If the Land's Creator is a god, he's a very human one. :D

I always imagined that Berek, Damelon and Loric married fellow Lords (or Lorewardens at the very least) since as Elena's story of Trell and Atiaran demonstrates, the pain that comes when lore sustains one partner but not the other can be great.
In The Illearth War, Elena wrote:And to the pain you gave her was added another; she aged, and Trell Atiaranmate did not. His lore sustained him beyond his years. So after so much hurt she began to lose her husband as well, though his love was steadfast. She was his wife, yet she became old enough to be his mother.
The question that always nagged at me was why did Kevin not follow in the footsteps of his father, grandfather and great-grandfather and have a son? Was he so consumed in his quest for the knowledge and lore that would eventually become the Seven Wards that he spurned all such opportunities? Did he enact the Ritual of Desecration before reaching the age at which Loric, Damelon and Berek married and had children? Or was there another reason that I cannot think of?

Who says Kevin didn't have little Landwasting rugrats? Maybe they died in the Ritual of Desecration...? 8O

Maybe the Bloodguard took the kids back to their mountain home and kept them. After a thousand years or so, Kevin's descendants probably wouldn't be very special anymroe anyway, since most of the Lore was lost.

Ooer, both good points Caesar. :D

I once wondered if maybe Mhoram was a descendant of Kevin's, but decided that such an idea belonged to a much worse writer than Donaldson.

I know the Bible very well, I have read it for 52 years. I know the Creator did not create Foul. The books plainly tell how he came to pollute the Creator's works, same as Lucifer polluted God's. There are many other parallels here. I'm curious now and must get the books out again and read them on this issue of the Creator. I know the story has several somewhat-differing versions depending on who told it, but the common threads I think are still there. Except for the a-Jeroth version in the 2nd Chrons of course. The Sunbane makes me think of pollution and global warming. Most authors seem to parallel stuff in real life to their books, like JRRT did the forges of Mordor to the industrialization of civilization. Sorry, off topic. Eeeuuww, Linden and Roger . I have to go wash now.....
