How did Thomas Covenant lose his finger? SRD says Leprosy IIRC, but that's not something leprosy does, period.

His hand was infected with gangrene so the doc cut it off.

I thought it was from flipping the bird at somebody and it fell off...

Rusmeister is that you in the blue sweater? Cute. Yea, the leprosy manifested itself in a small infected patch on the hand and he did not notice it, so it got worse and turned into gangrene. The book does not say if it was brought on by injury, but it appears to have only been a bruise that was not noticed. Even bruises are deadly to a leper.

Whoever thought that launching fowl at a target would be so dangerous?!

This makes me wonder...Covenant lost the last two fingers on his hand, correct? (The pinky and ring fingers.) So does that mean, if Covenant ever wants to give someone the middle finger, he has to use his index finger? And therefor, whenever Covenant is pointing at someone, he's flipping them the bird?
So many questions... I should submit those to the GI.

And how can he possibly drink tea politely? Don't forget to ask that.

And what happens when he gets water in his ear and needs to clean the wax out?
So many questions...

One wonders how well he can count in base 8.

It wouldn't be the actual force of the karate chop that hurt you...
