Excellent, that's just the way they're pictured in my mind.

Now I have to try a stab at those nasty green guys they fight.

Ditto.

Well done, Kevin.
I almost fear seeing the skest...
My one and only bad trip was filled with lurid green monsters. Just a hint of the color in anything triggers a really bad reaction in me.
But, I still look forward to seeing what you come up with.

Great job, Kevin! You may want to consider a drawing of one of the Jheherrin hugging/absorbing one of the Skest (from TWL).

Very nice, Kev. What you did is really good, but you left out a few things.
In The Power That Preserves was wrote:Reddish pockets of mud in its brown form shone dully, giving off a scanty illumination. ... several of the clay forms lit themselves as they moved, so that the tunnel was filled with light.
In The Power That Preserves was wrote:... they came in several different types. In addition to the short erect forms he had first seen, there were two or three distinct beast-shapes, which looked like miserably failed attempts to mold horses, wolves, Cavewights in mud, and one oddly serpentine group of belly crawlers.

Is that the description from Power Preserves, sounds like it? I only now have a copy of the Wounded Land.

Yes. Usually I include the book in my quotations. The one time I don't ... :?

Thanks I can use those to make some changes to the sketch, at least in some effects for the coloring. When I get to the Skest battle. I'll incorporate the animals and Cavewight forms.

BTW, I always pictured skest as looking like Casper the Friendly Ghost, except colored like a green glowstick. :)

Yes, I checked, and the descriptions I mentioned carry forward 3500 years.
In The Wounded Land was wrote:... leaving a dull brown creature like a sculpture poorly wrought in clay. Reddish pockets embedded in its form glowed dully.

Paralyzed by recognition, Covenant watched as a second clay form emerged like a damp sponge from the mud. It looked like a crocodile fashioned by a blind man.

Wow, that's pretty close to my thoughts, too. I did have a hard time while reading that passage picturing the ones that had vague animal shapes though. There was one that was snakelike, and that one seemed like it would look extra creepy. But the melting feature is spot on, I say. Jolly good job!!!
